"people tell me we're better with 4-4-2" who are these "people" your sidekicks?

    then arry says

"we don't have the forwards to get back into position and we look too open with 4-4-2"

Arry, you're the manager, if you know 4-4-2. doesnt work, and it leaves us too open, why play it? why not change the system at half time if its obvious its not working

We could have played 4-4-1-1, with lennon, bale, modric, vdv,ade and sandro all in there best positions.

yes we have the semi final coming up but thats no excuse as the league is what defines our season and now we go into the semi final with the players out of sorts and lacking confidence.

Arry is clearly surrounding himself with the wrong people as we need to go back to basics and get back to what has served us so well, and as you say, the "The tried and tested formation" but for whatever reason, arry just simply wont do the simple things.

Even the bbc reporter mentions it

reason? we have forgotten how important the 4-4-1-1 system was, and why it worked, stop fafing about with formations that dont work, play players in there best position as we're making hard work of games when there is no reason to be in such dire form.

sorry but the man is a cok..like id criticise anyone else..ill criticise him.

first it was 5 from 7..now he says 5 from 5...i thought he couldnt count.

we need a manager who can use a squad...then they all wont be knackered or too rusty come bloody March.

just a poor do Roo....how can you not be driven in the last few matches for CL footy?

ive been there when we wanted 4th...and you know what...we got it that year....we were on fire...but now its like theres no fire.

as for players threatening to leave..well they are cowards if they leave due to us not getting CL footy...because had they managed to pull their fingers out of their arses then we might not have blown a big lead.

his statement doesnt seem like it is from a man with confidence...sorry but its his fault...we have players that would walk into the Norwich team that dont get a look in..but they beat us...your fault HR....its called a squad for a reason!

not my 'favourite 11 then the rest'...and i get this vibe that he doesnt really make anyone beyond the obvious 15 or so players feel special...so why should they bother when he puts them on with 5 to go to save a lost cause...i wouldnt be so bothered.

exactly GS...he seems to wince a bit at the prospect of us getting CL footy.......we failed due to his failure as a tactician...ive said it for over a year...yes we have progressed but we will only go sideways at best with HR...we have a great squad...just nobody good enouh to utilise them...insted he runs them on empty..whilst disheartening the rest.

In a way he is beginning to learn, I think.

One of the reasons I don't like 4411 is that it depends on Parker, Modric, Bale, Lennon and VdV all being available as the cover we have for those positions is of much lower quality or with a very different style of player.

4231 doesn't suffer from this and neither does 433, as we are pretty strong in central midfield. So if we had played one of those formations since the season began he could have rotated much more. Harry has discovered this rather late and we've had a lot of problems adapting to the new tactics but I hope we can survive in fourth place and build on it next year.

urgh, I could be here all night moaning about what's wrong with us at the moment, but everyone's thinking the same.

harry just annoys me. the bloke can pull off a miracle, but time and time again, we get the simple things wrong. Rotation and basic tactics being 2 obvious ones that stick out.

we've got 5 games left. We're all over the place and we can't keep making excuses. - That sounds really harsh on Norwich today, and i apologise to any Norwich fans reading this. They are a good side, but we cannot lose at home to a newly promoted side and expect to get CL football.

we now have 3 away games out of 5. having been beaten at home today... i just don't know where the points are going to come from. i repeat again, we're all over the place.

    What a ****ing annoying interview.

We looked miles too open because we had a very inexperienced holding player and two out-and-out, play on the last man's shoulder strikers, combined with knackered full-backs and a very shaky King.
Our formation wasn't as relevant as the personnel used.

We haven't rotated much all season and now we rotate most of the side.
What was he expecting to happen?

Trying to palm the blame off onto unnamed 'advisers', rather than accepting that he made poor selections for what seems like virtually every game since his court case finished.
    Sick of it.

I'm a tad confused as to what is going on in arrys mind right now as I dont believe he is as daft as he is making out and you can tell by the way he talks about games in general that is he clued up on what works, and what doesn't but there seems to be this thing installed in him which stops him making the right tactical decisions.

The guy understands how to get the best out of players and understands the basics behind formations and also understands why the opposition are on top, so what is stopping him from making the right decisions.

Yes, I saw the inetrview with Harry Radnapp after todays game and I too was wondering about the "people tell me" comment.,
It was a very strange thing to say IMO., Is Harry now being lead by others, if so, will the real manager stand-up.

It also struct me that the original Harry Rednapp would be furious at our lose today (I know, I am), Instead he appear to be none too concerned about the whole affair. Could it be that he thinks he work at Spurs is done and that he is already promoted to the National side. Will he still be saying this "people tell me" excuse.

Seems to me too many cooks may be spoiling the broth. We have coaches coming out of our ears and twenty five players to work with, yet still this Management by comittee come to the conclusion that, at home, 4-4-2 is our best formation. If you poll a thousand Spurs supporters, I would imagine at least 950 would say that 4-4-1-1 the is the best formation for us when Bale, Lennon and VDV are available. The three of them pull defences all over the place and midfelders out of position as does Ade when he plays up top. Wtf thought 4-4-2 w as agood idea today? To tell you the truth "people say..." is not ****ing good enough as a reason.

Parker is tired, obviously, but I think we know enough about Livermore now to see that he could make a decent fist of shielding the back four. That is the main problem, the team looks tired because we haven't developed the players we have who are not first choice to 1.capably fill in for injured and fatigued players, 2. challenge that first 11 for places to keep THEIR performance levels up. Instead of this "virtuous circle" we change formation and use players in positions patently unsuited to them. Find what works and use the players best suited to it, if they're not work at it and keep working. Everybody knows where they are then and we may actually get through a season without making the club look a complete joke.

Run of games. It's never easy to look good when you get a game here and there.

very true SJW......plus being played in your favoured position when you are reqd...Harry cant look after a squad...god knows what he will do with England...stick with the old brigade because he trusts them no doubt!..not that i care about the national team.

To tell you the truth, I am beginning to think Harry going to England could do us a favour. I should imagine stay or go, the transfer requests will be flying in come the window.
