Harry Redknapp set for QPR clear out to fund bids for Aaron Lennon and Dani Ovaldo By Graham Corking Posted on January 25, 2015 image: http://www.squawka.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/4364508.jpg please log in to view this image Advertisement the Express. Lennon has been heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this season with the likes of Everton, Stoke City, Hull City and now QPR all keen on the England international, as reported by the Telegraph. Harry Redknapp insists he will “need a miracle” to sign a striker for Queens Park Rangers in January The Express claim that Redknapp is more than happy to sell the likes of first-team misfits Junior Hoilett, Jordan Mutch, Matt Philips and midfield battler Leroy Fer to help fund bids for Osvaldo, Lennon and possibly Yann M’Vila who is on loan at Inter Milan from Rubin Kazan. Redknapp has been forced into selling some of his players after QPR owner Tony Fernandes told him there is no budget for new signings but possibly for loan moves – leaving Redknapp to miss out on a reunion with Jermain Defoe, as reported by the Mirror. Despite having ‘no budget’ QPR were linked with a move for former AC Milan flop Alexandre Pato but Redknapp ruled out a move for the Brazilian claiming he is not the type of player he wants, as reported by Sky Sports. Redknapp also told Sky Sport that he has not heard anything about Adel Taraabt moving. Read more at http://www.squawka.com/news/reports...on-and-dani-ovaldo/283480#Pf8d5QC9vb9f5zfF.99
I believe he would be happy to let those players go. I also believe that he will not sign the likes of Lennon.
So Harry buys Mutch and Fer for what?.......14 odd million and wants rid of them both after half a season to buy two more over-rated misfits? And why oh why oh why can we not stop looking at White Hart Lane old-boys and rejects ffs? Where will it all end? ( No need to answer that....... Think I know the answer already ).
Typical Redknapp sh*te. I'll be livid if this is even 10% true. I honestly dont know if i have ever felt as distant from this 'team' as I do right now. Invest in youth, training and team spirit. Get actual scouts, get rid of Redknapp and the 11,000 people that stand and sit on the bench doing God knows what, and ask serious questions of Fernandes. Then press the reset button PLEASE
If there were a shred of truth in this, it completely undermines Harry's credentials as a manager and coach. A CEO of any company could not reasonably have faith in a senior employee responsible for critical talent recruitment that behaved in this way. We are crying out for the type of due diligence that other clubs have started to put in place to identify future talent (both on and off the field). The current approach seems based predominantly on past associations (Harry's ex players) and short-term gain (staying in the PL at all odds) - and so far we have spent a reported £200m and are no further forwards than we were when Colin took us up. Where is the future, evidence based planning? As I said, I'm not sure how much of this is based in truth or rumour - either way, it feels like our club is being steered erratically by owners who appear to have no coherent forward plan, who have implemented an uncertain management structure and demonstrated poor leadership right from the start. Nice guys and all and good at social media, but perhaps more clueless than we all realised about modern football and the need to develop talent from within. Harry is a manager that relies on buying players - we knew it at the start, and we know it even more now. The fact that it has taken so long to even think about the youth development system is utterly unforgivable in the current climate of even very average players values and wages. The fact that Harry only ever puts a youth player on the bench when he is pleading poverty and "needs another body in" is a kick in the teeth of all the young players that week in and week out train, and work to get noticed by a management team that simply dismiss them as not good enough. It's a bit of a Catch 22, not good enough so you don't make the squad, but need experience of training/playing with better players to improve. When you see how clubs like Brentford are moving forwards (and good luck to them, they deserve it) it really make you realise how backwards and unfocused we have become - I have serious concerns about both our short-term and long-term stability. Personally I'm sick of the obsession with 'brand QPR' - it's as insubstantial as our defence is away from home.
This times one million. We are an absolute dinosaur of a team and for years and years to come will be used as a role model for exactly how NOT to run a club. We deserve everything we get
Trouble is even if its not true, cant see the above mentioned players being very motivated for rest of the season!!..............................
It probably is rubbish but the fact that we're so resigned to the possibility that this might be true (and would be more shocked at a move for an untried player that will be put straight into the squad who has no links to Spurs or West Ham) that it's just depressing anyway. Are we really going to stick with Arry for the season - it feels like being bound and rolling very slowly towards the edge of a cliff - painfully slow whereas any alternative seems less torturous.
Great post They haven't got any idea about brand QPR any of them… The media team seems to be operating under a blanket of fear Where we are is where they have taken us it needs urgent review … I have no problems going down The ethics and the club's ideals need to be firmly reviewed Tony Crooks needs to be have a long look at the club because it's simply not good enough and the exposure has made us look like real fools I say again set the club's identity and vision back on track asap
Because everyone has forgotten he exists? Or because even lazy journalists now realise he'll go nowhere whilst he's being paid this much?
Apparently all three teams involved have agreed Osvaldo can come to us on loan...and he doesn't want to What a surprise...
What Beth said....... http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...greement-for-dani-osvaldo-waiting-on-other-i/ not a very auspicious start.
