http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/harry-redknapp-plotting-qpr-transfer-4885471 Harry Redknapp is considering a reunion with Yakubu at QPR. The Nigerian striker is among the names on Redknapp’s hit-list in January. The QPR boss is exploring the option of signing Yakubu to take the pressure off top scorer Charlie Austin. Yakubu, who plays for Qatari club Al Rayyan, was in the stands to watch Rangers’ 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Boxing Day. He has just six months left on his contract in the Middle East and is open to another crack in the Premier League. Despite being 32, Redknapp believes ‘The Yak’ could be worth the risk as he chases firepower. He also represents a cheaper option than Toronto’s Jermain Defoe, with ‘Arry told to secure survival on a shoestring. Redknapp remains a big fan having first signed Yakubu during his stint at Portsmouth. Yakubu also went on to have a prolific top-flight career with Middlesbrough, Everton and Blackburn before heading to China in 2012.
How much more different is he to all the other has-been, old-timer mercs that we just finally got done getting rid? If we're gonna get Yakubu, just play Adel!
Had a few beers with him a month or so ago watching the Arsenal v Man U game out here Didn't seem in tip top shape tbh Asomah Gyan is out here, would prefer him if we're going down the old, given up, has-been route
don't sound very cheap to me QPR eye Yakubu QPR are considering an expensive alternative to Toronto forward Jermain Defoe. The Mirror report they want to sign former Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu, who has recently been playing in Qatar for Al Rayyan. Prior to that he was playing in China where he was earning more than £5 million a year. The Nigerian forward, 32, is reportedly in England as a guest of the club and while a transfer fee could be minimal, it is his wage demands which are likely to place him among the highest earners at the club if he signs
This has to be a joke. He was awful at Everton, retreated to one on the cash cow semi-retirement leagues and now Arry thinks he could do a job? Words fail me.
Is this a windup? Harold, why do you only look to previous players in the market. Smacks of lack of knowledge to me. Catch yourself on FFS.
Could be in most "normal" worlds. However, can you truly wager with even 80% belief there are no legs to this? I mean, could there be any evidence pointing to this being a complete non-starter? How many times has Redknapp bought Crouchy, Defoey, Kranky, Nelseney, Sandroey? How many times has Redknapp worked with the likes of Jenasey, Ferdinandey, O'Neiley? I mean it would be just so out of the ordinary for Redknapp to be looking at an old has been that he knows wouldnt it! Care to wager whilst proding odds kind sir?
The thing is Danish is that the way you put it, it is scary enough to be believable......Tell you what, if Harold does buy the Yak, I'll get Ninesey to buy you a pint next time you're over for a game!!!!!
OH LOOK WHO HAS COME OUT OF HIBERNATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One win in...................... ooooooohh how long................ and up pops Mr W.U.M. himself giving us his insight on football and QPR. I cant wait to see if David.C.A.Moron wins the next election and brings back fox hunting, 'cause there are a few of the verminious little feckers i would love to see getting their asses chewed by a pack of slavering hounds. TALLY HO !!!!!!!!!
Have we not learned to wait till deadline day before panicking about who we may or may not be signing?
