Christmas is a time for families. It's also a time for football. But what's December 25 like for one of Britain's most famous football families? That's what we asked Harry and Jamie Redknapp as the father and son duo joined Soccer AM for their Christmas Special. Jamie admits he was football mad as a youngster and was not at all bothered that his father, who managed Bournemouth from 1983 to 1992, would have to work on Christmas Day ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures. Indeed, he relished the chance to go and see his dad at work. "It was great," Jamie said. "The best part of Christmas was that I always used to get a new pair of football boots every year. "Dad would be training. Bournemouth would usually train on Christmas Day morning so we'd open the presents, my brother and I, and then we'd go up to Bournemouth to see the training and if I was lucky I'd be able to join in with the first team. "That was the best thing about it. That's what I'll always remember. I couldn't wait to get to the training ground if it was snowing or cold or whatever."
Old rent a gob was alright on this, especially on the pointless idea of a winter break. He needs to be aware that his 'old days' spiel will not be so popular soon, the demographic is dying off. I remember the old football boots too, I'd just about broken mine in by the time the season ended. Dubbin.
