Harry Redknapp is set for a quick return to the Premier League Sunday September 30,2012 By Daily Express Reporter HARRY REDKNAPP is set for a quick return to the Premier League. He is the bookiesâ favourite to take over from Nigel Adkins at Southampton. But odds have shortened on the possibility of him ousting Mark Hughes at big-spending QPR. One bookie has Redknapp 15/8 favourite for the Loftus Road job as Hughes takes his strugglers to West Ham tomorrow night still seeking their first win of the season. http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/349163?
Think we are going to hear a lot more of this over the coming weeks. The only thing MH can do to stop these rumors is start winning games. TF has spent a lot of money installing MH and his huge backroom team. Don't know if we could afford to sack them all. Interesting times indeed. We need a win tomorrow night.
I said I'd give Hughes time, and I will, but he would be hard to say no to. That said, I doubt this is anything more than the usual lazy journalism, adding 1 & 1 and getting 6.
Give it a rest lads. All the negativity is very boring. Can we have some positivity, please.........................
Good point about the backroom team, Nuts. Hughes has created a great pyramid of people in his own image. Sacking MH would be a major upheaval unless the new manager can work with the backroom team and visa versa. If we lose tomorrow, TF will be wishing he stuck to cars. Seriously, though, I still think 10 games should be the first management appraisal point particularly as we have been hampered by injuries. After that, MH may start to skate on thin ice if results don't improve.
How can you take seriously a journalist who can't even be bothered to get right where a game is going to be played. "as Hughes takes his strugglers to West Ham tomorrow night"
Ok here goes , watched The Hunger Games last night and the wife enjoyed it as we'll,now that is a rarity in my house
Nothing negative here! Harry one of the most highly rated Managers in the PL being tipped to take over from a highly rated one, sounds good to me! A manager whose teams play exciting free flowing football, and gives players freedom to take responsibilty on the pitch themselvs, to replace a manager who is over cautious, and all is very organised, is also positive.
Mark hughes is the best thing to happen to QPR. We have been unlucky with injuries. Bar swansea we have looked a top top side. Lots to do. But feeling good. Its not all about result on monday. Keep the faith. tonyfernandes A Tweet by @tonyfernandes ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ He's got the most to lose , so why don't we do as suggested?
No chance they will spend a fortune to get rid of Hughes/backroom staff/Agent.....yet!.I would cream my pants if we got Harry in
Like his replacement Anus Boils! Apart from Fergerson and Wenger they all get sacked sooner or later. I would like us to keep a good manager a long time, but unless Hughes sorts us out in the next 2 months it will be hard to consider him a good manager.
What has Harry really done? Helped take Portsmouth to their knees. Moved to Spurs knowing things were about to go wrong. In court says he knows sweet FA about basic communication technology. In this day and age his position would demand that skill. Levy did not show him the door on a whim. Why did he get turned down from the England job? We dont need a 'cheeky chappie' we need someone in the current world.
C'mon North, we have been unlucky with injuries, but didnt Hughes squire a lot of money to buy a squad to cover this. What he didn't do was buy players to cover the different positions on the field, not in defence for sure. On buying him out I agree with Goldie and Nuts. Hughes surrounds himself with his chums knowing a new manager wouldn't take them so it's difficult ie expensive to get rid of them as a job lot.
The fact he kept us in the Premier league last year means he must have something about him. We won 5 of the last 10 games including three wins against top 6 teams Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal. So far this year, we have been unlucky. With a bit of patience, things will get better. Harry Redknapp would be a step backwards in my opinion.
Yeh, agree with much of this, it's why I wrote he'd only be a stop- gap on another thread, and he is getting on. But who else could we get in now, or in a couple of months or so?
Arry is a dinosaur who can only get a decent team by buying players left right and centre. He cant get a lower half team to perform above its level like a good coach would. Good for the top 6, bad for the rest of the league. He bankrupted Pompey with the spending and relegated Saints.
