Harry Redknapp hails his ‘amazing’ QPR hero Adel Taarabt
By Anton Stanley | Saturday, December 15, 2012
QPR manager Harry Redknapp nearly ran out of superlatives as he praised the performance of his two-goal hero Adel Taarabt after their 2-1 win over Fulham.

The Moroccon magician produced several moments of wizardry throughout the match as he and his team-mates conjoured up their first victory of the Premier League campaign, including his second goal which was an exceptional strike with the outside of his boot.

And Reknapp was delighted with his exquisite display, which was full of flair and guile, as he played just behind Djibril Cisse for the Super Hoops.

He told talkSPORT: “That’s where he wants to play and that’s where he’s at his best [in the middle]. He’s not a wide left player he’s play in that bit between the lines.

“We want to work and get him in between their back four and their midfield and get him on the back [where he can] turn and go at people like he did today. He’s unplayable.

“He’s an amazing talent. I’ve said it all along. No one has ever changed my opinion of him. As I’ve said many times, he can be a bit of a fruitcake and I’ll still say the same, that’s how he can be, but he’s a good lad and he’s a fantastic talent.”

A number of us have been saying it for the last 12 months; Adel is at his most effective through the middle. Who would have thought 13 months ago that we would be congratulating Adel for being our most determined player on the middle of a dog fight. This young man had matured beyond belief.

That's a fair point. He has consistently put the effort in since his recall by Hughes to the side.

Honesty of effort is the first thing you want from a player, whatever about anything else. And to be fair, he has been consistent in that since his return to the team.

What was it about his celebration for his 1st goal that caused him to be booked?

Really? That's a booking offence? Ridiculous.

And Fellaini got away with GBH on the day, although he'll doubtless get a ban when they look at the tapes...

It must be said that Fulham could not have made Tabs day much easier - they gave him so much time and space at times that it was almost unbelievable.

    Great second goal nonetheless.

That's what worries me a bit. Fulham were shockingly bad on the day.

its a just a start but i have seen us play well enough not to worry. We're relegated We're relegated We're relegated We're relegated We're relegated We're relegated We're relegated We're relegated ... now that does make me laugh. Next week we may face a Newcastle back lash in front of 50k ... that is where you need the likes of Bosingwa away from home in the big games. **** those ripping Taarabt he could play anywhere going forward ... why? he is a very very good footballer with the ball and not abad one without it.

Some fools blamed him for a Wigan goal on here last week ... they should all eat dog ****.

Really big hole between their defense and midfield. Adel was running at their exposed defense and it was a train wreck waiting to happen for them
