    Harry Kewell. Houllier's big bargain.

Not a popular figure around here I assume.

But what was every ones feelings towards Kewell when he left the field in tears in Istanbul?

I know a lot of people turned against him that season and wanted him to leave. But Rafa gave him another chance. He had a very tough time with injuries. During the one period where he was actually able to have a run of games under Rafa he actually played pretty well and it was a shame it didnt last.

Kewell was a cracking player in his day, he just had the worst run of injuries when he joined us. Not his fault that he couldnt replicate his Leeds form with us, his body just wouldnt allow him too.
Not going to bad mouth him cause he Wanted to play and perform at his best for us and he had a passion for the club. Its just a shame it never worked out for him and we were right to get rid as he was costing alot in wages.

  4. Bottler. Coward. Prick. Nobhead. Uninterested. Money grabber. No heart. Get someone on the cares. Thank **** he's off. He is **** anyway. Whats that done to the system. Are we bringing someone on that can tackle. some one that wants the ball. Who will get stuck in. Kewell can **** off.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts at the time. I don't look at him like that now though. He was going through a rough time with injuries and the medical staff said he did have a true injury after coming off. We signed up for a bargain £5m and he could have been a superstar for us but for the injuries, it just wasn't meant to be <ok>

One of the most dissappointing players ever for me. Every time he came back form injury I thought this is it, this time the Leeds harry kewell will come back. You saw he had the talent and the skill to be awesome for us but it just never came about.

I kept belief in him and believing just led to more disappointment :(

  6. Maybe he couldn't handle the pressure? He never had pressure at Leeds because he grew into the team and club. He played well after leaving us but never really got the pressure he got to perform at Anfield.

At the time I wasn't bothered for him because his inclusion meant the bench for Didi- who should have started.
When we bought him I thought he was a great signing but it didn't work out.
Plagued by injury, but he always seemed to be miraculously fit for Oz, somehow.
I don't have any great feelings about him either way any more- good luck to him, it's all in the past.

Deep down there was a very good player. I managed to catch one of his rare games and nothing happened!

Felt sorry for him - then that feeling changed and I think he was just picking up a wage off us.

Pulling up so limply in the final was enough for me.

I remember his posting something recently either offensive, or relating to taking money of us.

To be honest he's not worth the effort of this thread.

He played the injury card when the chips were down in Istanbul, but he ran onto the pitch faster than Usain Bolt when we won the penalty shootout.

    Played when it suited him.

Hang on... Yes caps lock are in full effect as i really want to call you names right now.

This thief, robber, total mut of a player sent out his agent to find the most gullible club possible and found us. He sat o nthe bench or the injury tabel for all that time unitl australia were going to get to a world cup and miraculaously he rose from his death bed, chronic ankle, gout et al and played for 6 months... Once australi met their match he faked an injury limped off the pitch at said world cup and neve rplayed again for anyone cos he was too busy malingering.

Don't feel sorry for the scum... Feel sorry for the fans who paid his 50k per week wages.
