Watching the Spurs v Arsenal game, and Harry Kane in particular..........He looks a totally different player to what he was just a few years ago in a yellow shirt.
Yes I am always bemused when some loan crettin who is about as much use as a chocolate teapot for us turns out to be a very good player for someone else..... just a bit previous doh!
He was injured most of the time we had him and never really had a chance to get going. Some of the stick he got from some of our fans was nonsense, and from what I remember was all based on a single missed chance against West Ham that was far more difficult than a lot of people were trying to make out. Thought he looked good for Spurs last season, though I must admit I never expected him to have the impact he has this term. He has been incredible all season, looks the real deal and potentially the most 'complete' English striker since Shearer. I stuck him in the dream team I run at work and he's fired me to the top of the table so he's definitely my favourite player right now.
You are right fella - I'm pretty sure the commentators were banging on about how Spurs were his childhood team, and what a dream it was to have scored two goals against Arsenal.
He's having a fantastic season and rightly getting all the plaudits but the true Acid test will be next season and how well he performs then! There have been too many players that have been great debut seasons only to fail in the second so lets just ignore all the hype for now!
He did reasonably well last season when used and is brilliant season but your point about players or teams doing well then choking is a valid one Warky. Like already Upswich
from wiki: "Kane was born Chingford, London.[3] From local club Ridgeway Rovers, he had a year at Arsenal's academy aged 8" just about ties in with the invincibles, i think
He has been banging on about living the dream of playing for his boyhood club Spurs , clearly he wasn't good enough to be kept on by Arsenal .
Arsenal are flat track bullies... they can only beat the teams in poor form! Hell even Manure turned them over! Never really liked Arsenal, my Father In Law is a season ticket holder there so I guess that may have something to do with it!
You're just saying that so if he does fail next season you can say you called! Seriously though he has scored some lovely goals this season, holds the ball up as well if not better than anyone in the league and seems to have a real knack for getting in the right positions! I think he could carry on like this as he isn't full of himself and seems to know he has to work hard!
give him a chance! hes doing great at the moment, and looks the real deal. hes banging them in,holds the ball up supurbly and brings his teamates into play well. he is full of confidence, give him a go in the england team. obviously he has to do it for more than one season, but looks like he can for me
