Harold has doubts about AJ and BZ in terms of fitness and stories say he is going for Harry Kane on loan. Good grief how does this bloke work? Has he any other ideas rather than get in Spurs players? ... I still think Kanu is coming
Can't blame Harry for wanting to get in players that he knows. Now is not the time to have a punt on unknown young players who need the experience. Spurs have been making lots of changes recently so there may be more available from there. Arsenal haven't made lots of changes and we don't want anyone from Chelsea. It is also difficult to get some players to move down from the Norf just for 6 months/year.
Spurs’ Kane lined up to replace Johnson Soccer - Pre Season Friendly - Watford v Tottenham Hotspur - Vicarage Road 16/09/2013 By David McIntyre QPR boss Harry Redknapp says he was close to signing Harry Kane on loan from Tottenham before the transfer window shut – and may make another move for the England Under-21 striker. please log in to view this image Kane, 20, was lined up as a replacement for Andy Johnson when it seemed he would be returning to his former club Crystal Palace. The 32-year-old ended up staying, but amid doubts over Johnson’s long-term fitness following a knee injury, and with Palace planning another attempt to sign him in January, Redknapp believes Kane could still end up at Loftus Road. He explained: “I was going to take Harry on the deadline. I was going to take him that night when AJ looked like he was going to Crystal Palace. “Now, I don’t know. If Emmanuel Adebayor’s not in Tottenham’s squad they’ve only really got two strikers – Jermain Defoe and [Roberto] Soldado. “Harry’s probably the third choice there now. Whether they’ll still loan him, I don’t know. They might do.” Kane, who has had loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester, was one of several players former Spurs manager Redknapp was keen to sign from the north London club. He was unable to land Andros Townsend, who impressed while on loan from Tottenham last season, but did manage to bring in Tom Carroll and Benoit Assou-Ekotto. And he believes Kane may yet be loaned out in order to pick up more first-team experience. “It may happen still. He needs games and it certainly didn’t do Andros any harm coming here last year,” said Redknapp, who says he would also like the out-of-favour Adebayor on loan. “Andy Johnson missed all of last season – is he going to stay fit? Bobby Zamora’s had problems too. “That [up front] is the only area. Everywhere else I’m very happy with.”
I'm bring a Spurs mate to a match later in the season, I reckon he will know more about our team that I will.
Apologies didn't post it right as i think the fact that he only now has come out and said he has a few doubts about the fitness of BZ and AJ is the key point here ... I would guess most of Europe may of thought that there are doubts about BZ and AJ and their fitness. The other stuff about quoted from Harold about AJ and Palace I thought is a very different story that QPR put out after the window closed. Have i missed something ... is the French internet different?
Yes. " Good moaning. Horry Rodnip of Quoons Pick Ringers, is winting to sone Horry Kune on lean for the sosun."
With Spurs sitting well in the PL table for the past couple of years, I'm OK with some of the extended team players joining us, whether on loan or signed. Like Andros last season, it was good for both parties. As long as they fit the team ethic, blend in and don't upset the troops ................. I'm all for it.
I am fine with any loan signings as still hold the opinion that if we get back up Harold will buy a completely new team.
I agree, loan signings of the right sort of players make sense for us at the moment. If they are a success then great, look at Kyle walker, he was a great signing for us.
That will make a nice change. Harry should read our board, we would of warned him that AJ and BZ are prone to the odd injury or twenty.
"Harold has doubts about AJ and BZ in terms of fitness" NO **** SHERLOCK! If he didn't know about this before then I seriously need to consider changing my signature. Re Harry Kane, looked good for England this summer apart from his finishing that was dreadfull
I reckon he's still trying to tempt Adebayor myself. If he wants to stay in London badly enough then we have a chance. Tottenham reserves would have stayed up last season...
Echo the thoughts of many on here. If we can get promotion at the lowest possible cost then it's a win-win scenario. Harry Kane is another young player with some hunger and desire to improve. I want those sort of players in the squad. Another England U21 player will do nicely. I think our recruitment policy has been very smart this season. The players we have signed permanently are all early to mid twenties years of age and represent great value in the market. We've got experience in the right places now within the spine of the team. Green, Dunne, Barton, Henry all help us get the necessary blend of youth/experience. We're not very attractive on the eye at the minute admittedly, but that will come with time. Hoillet, Phillips, Carroll, Austin, AJ, Kranjcar all the ability to win us matches on their day so I'm not worried about our attacking players. They big indicator for us this season is how effective we are at bouncing back from a defeat. That's always the key in this division.
My worry with Kane is that he has injuries at Norwich the other season, but as with the other signings Harry knows him, which is a crucial thing. He will know what makes him tick, and how to get the best out of him.
I was thinking that myself, especially this part: "Harry Kane is another young player with some hunger and desire to improve. I want those sort of players in the squad. Another England U21 player will do nicely. I think our recruitment policy has been very smart this season." I think this lad would be a more appropriate signing for where we are now, than Adebayor would.
