Most of the "big guns" are out, it could be his only chance imo.

He's got a great chance. So does Lukaku, he could well bag 2-3 against Japan, tomorrow. You couldn't rule out Mbappe or Griezmann, as I fancy France to get to the final.

Ronaldo was the only real threat imo. How many have the others got?

    Kane 5
    Mbappe 3
    Lukaku 3
    Griezmann 2

7 will take it, I reckon.

My lad had a bet on that Kane, Ronaldo & Messi will score at least 12 between them! Got off to a cracking start in the group stages but his arse is tweaking now like :emoticon-0172-mooni

How many does he need Kane to score from this point? Is it two?

One more required to make sure. Brazil and France have players that could score 4-5 goals in 3 games. That's unlikely though and he may already have enough.

I think he’s got it. Surely this will increase his chances of a massive move away from Spurs? It’s a matter of time.... Oh yes, I forgot to mention.... It’s coming home!!

I’m quite pessimistic when it comes to the England team but logic dictates we are the best side in our half of the draw. Sure, anything can happen and Croatia aren’t a million miles away from us but I can see a Brazil vs england final. From there, who knows! Brazil would be clear favourites against us (as would France if they got that far) but in a one off game, anything can happen!

Literally just had this conversation with one of the lads here at work! Anything is possible in a one off. England are now in a position where 3 wins in a row will win them the biggest (well, most watched) sporting competition in the world!!

As a Newcastle fan I find trophies to be meaningless. It’s not like they’re representative of how good a team is on anything....

It's fair to assume I am never thinking of that.

Not that I begrudge Sunderland winning it (not like I have any affinity to Leeds) but it was a number of years before I was born. Another couple of years time and we will have a combined winless streak (as regards trophies) of a century. We are quite the domestic giants.

Thing is, that applies to the quarters and semis as well. We may be the better team on paper but...
