Obviously sees a different game to us...

    http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-qpr/2013/08/13/82029-33721824/?

BOBBY Zamora was a boo-boy target for a section of QPR fans in the opening game against Sheffield Wednesday – and his manager is mystified.

There were ironic jeers when the big striker (pic) won a header after a quiet first half, and then saw little of the ball throughout the game.

He partnered new boy Charlie Austin in the Capital Cup win over Exeter for the first half, but it was sub Andy Johnson alongside Austin at Huddersfield on Saturday with Zamora left on the bench.

Harry Redknapp admits he’s anxious about overusing the forward who has postponed a pelvic operation to play this season, and reckons it’s the reason he’s desperate to find a fourth forward.

“I don’t know why (Zamora got stick),” said Redknapp, “He played last season when he wasn't really fit, and he's trained his socks off and had a fantastic pre-season to get himself fit, so I don't why he's got himself grief.

“This is a tough league: Saturday, midweek, Saturday midweek, and I still need four strikers.

“Bobby’s injury record and Andy’s, (is a concern) and Andy was great against Wednesday, but you still need four strikers so we can rotate.”

As long as Zamora is fourth choice.

Wed need 4 if they were all fit and had no injury problems, 2 playing and 2 on the bench, we will be short as soon as one of them goes down and there will be times where we cant even bring on a forward.

We need 5 or even 6 if we are going to play 2 up front.

Bobby gets some bad press unfairly. I think he wants to do well for QPR and perhaps that pressure makes a difference. I was embarrassed when he was jeered for winning a header. As we often discussed on here (and always disagreed on), I would never jeer a QPR player wearing the shirt. He is not the worst striker we've had and he does hold up the ball well and is capable of creating goals from passes.

Would I replace him with a proven goal scorer? Yes.
    Would I jeer him? Never.
Harry will not be afraid to drop him if the team requires it.

    Completely agree with this.

Bobby Z does get a lot of stick and it's got to stop. He's an experienced pro now who we could do with in our squad.

I remember the Swansea away game last season where he came on and was our best player by a country mile. Don't mistake him for someone who doesn't care about our cause. I hope he proves his critics wrong this season.

Its the nature of what a QPR fan has become during the season ... moan when there is no football on ... we have to get together and support our team and players

In general QPR fans are becoming a bunch of tossers always looking to pick on someone.

BZ needs lifting not becoming the next for the wanders at our club. Against Wed he was fouled a lot but just gets on with it and doesn't fling himself to the ground.

How anyone on here can look to pick on him is complete rubbish

The season has started and we need to build not destroy

I wouldn't agree with picking on him, I just think he's not very good and should be fourth choice when another striker joins.

It's not his fault he gets picked though he is dire.

The slagging off of Henry is more bizarre to me.

It's true. I'd want to do well if I pulled on the hooped top, but I'm 40 years old and cack at football now. I agree about not jeering him, however he doesn't look up to scratch so far. The season however is very early and it's been a pleasing start all in all..wouldn't complain if another striker came in board.

They are both ****e and should be last picks. Henry is bizarre as there are 6 better players in the same position before he even got here.

The jeering is a reaction at Redknapp failing to see how bad they are and constantly picking them. Its the only way the fans can get that point across like with Bosingwa. The fans will have done the job if it leads to either being dropped.

Its not about having a bad game here and there, its about being a terrible, terrible player and the manager ignoring that.

But how do we know Henry is terrible after two games, neither of which were lost. Granted, he's not played well but I don't see how it's merited so early. Faurlin is obviously better as is Barton if played there. Other than that, I don't see who could definitely do a better job. I love Derry but he struggles in a 4-4-2.

So does Henry, he was dire before he joined us and nothing Ive seen suggests otherwise.

He can only play in a defensive 5 man midfield which is ok if your main aim is avoiding relegation (he also failed at that) but since we are playing 442, he not only struggles himself but brings down the play of his midfield partner as well.

Ferdinand did this in defence, he made everyone worse just by being there, so does Henry.

Who could do a better job?
    Faurlin, Granero, Mbia, diakite, Oneill.

Diakite is injured and/or awol. Mbia won't play again. O'Neil will play when fit. Granero doesn't want to be here and plays like it.

I think sighing elevates to boo-ing over the course of the match; as was the case vs Sheffield Wednesday.

If Bobby Zamora had won a couple of flick-ons or held the ball up and turned his defender, or laid on a good chance this would have stopped the crowd getting on his back.

I reckon there must have been 10-12 balls in total up to BZ vs Sheffield Wednesday and all yielded nothing. That's why the crowd were disappointed. I was too.

I didn't boo, but I definitely sighed and was pleased when Charlie Austin replaced him.

One factor to consider in Bobby Zamora's defence, I thought a couple of times we missed out on clear fouls where he was held in a head lock by the defender; one of those where the attacker is backing in and the defender is holding his ground.

He's a good player who does a lot of work that goes unseen and unappreciated. But we need to see more of the Zamora who terrified the Arsenal CBs at LR in 2012. And some goals. He should certainly be dominating defences in this league. Mobility, pace and stamina becoming big problems for him. We'll see - with Austin and Zapata (still think this is unlikely to happen) the pecking order for 'big'un up front' will be interesting. I would expect Zamora to be picked for what Harold sees as the tougher games, the wear defences down before someone else comes on to apply the coup de grace.

It's evident he needs this op but for some reason(s) it's being put off to his obvious detriment
