    Redknapp: ‘Adel’s an amazing talent’

Adel has a big future. He’s an amazing talent with the ball.""
    Harry Redknapp
NEW R’S boss Harry Redknapp has quashed speculation suggesting Adel Taarabt won’t feature in his plans at Loftus Road – insisting the Moroccan playmaker has a big part to play under his guidance.

Redknapp, of course, loaned and then sold Taarabt to QPR during his time as Spurs boss, but the 65 year-old was quick to set the record straight regarding the R’s fan’s favourite.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Redknapp said: “Adel has a big future.

“He’s an amazing talent with the ball. He can still do more without it, but there’s no doubt he’s a match-winner for us.

“He can turn things for us. He’s the player who can do something special, so we’ll be looking to get the best out of him.”

Redknapp added: “I never really wanted to sell him at Tottenham to be honest.

“I had a good relationship with him. I never had a problem with Adel.

“At times his problems were self-inflicted, but I let him go because he wasn’t playing and the Chairman felt it was a good time to let him go.

“He was a player I was always wary of letting go because I knew he could come back and haunt me one day.”

Anyone with common sense knew the idea of Harry getting rid of Taarabt would be nonsense.

Thats great news, my biggest fear was him getting rid of Taarabt. As weve seen with Hughes, sometimes theres no logic behind it as he bombed out a great forward in HH.

With all the talent at Spurs and Adel's immaturity at that time, we benefited from them realeasing him. Now he's a 'bigger fish' at QPR Harry will get him playing at his best, we need him at his best...

That whiffs a bit if I'm honest but is not worth dredging up now.

HR knows what he's got to work with and will know that Adel, in particular, can win games if he can get the best out of him.

I loved the football at spurs under Harry and he was great for us. But I have to warn you that once a player crosses him he never changes his mind.
He is a good man manager IF he likes the player.

Dos Santos was very much like Adel and was treated pretty much the same way. His man management was non non-existent when it came to Bent, Bentley, Gomes, Pavluchenko (excuse spelling) plus others (they cost £52m but he simply froze them out and publicly criticised them).
He even did it to players he signed like Kranjar (sp), Keane, Bassong.

He pretty much froze defoe out and some of his signings were odd to say the least...Saha????

Like I said I loved what he did with us but his whoring himself out to the England job...he turned down a new spurs contract in Feb even though we stood by him throughout his court case. He then claimed his flirting with England was not affecting the players during our terrible run yet when spurs weren't offering him a contract after England ignored him he claimed that this was affecting the players. He did this through the media while our Chairman was in the US at his mothers funeral.

This damaged his reputation with lots of us who rated him and made him look overtly self serving.

I hope he keeps you up and is a success but don't bank on Adel to remain

He's got no-one to replace him with anyway so i dont see how he could get rid even if he wanted to?

Seems the message so far is that 'Arry doesn't suffer fools gladly and supports those who support him.

That's clear enough then. We won't be carrying passengers. As he says, it's up to the players to go the extra mile and perform. In this Taarabt can thank Hughes. He's now playing like a man who's up for the challenge - and not before time imo.

I think Harry is far too shrewd to get rid of our biggest crowd pleaser on arriving, even he wanted to! Be a mistake to get the crowd off side straight away imo.
