Harrold has taken time out to talk. (Taken from the post). Harrold on his time out during his injury: âThe last couple of seasons have been quite tough in terms of results and Iâve missed out on being a part of the team during what was the best run of form since I arrived here. The way the lads played over the last six months of the season was great to watch and you could see how much it meant to them and to the supporters to be a part of a winning team. Watching that has provided plenty of motivation for me to be part of something really good. I think we can take the sort of form we showed at the end of last season into the new one, but it is not always easy. When I first joined the club everyone had us down as champions before weâd even kicked a ball. It probably made things a bit harder at that time, but after the way we ended last season Iâd say we are quietly confident. The team spirit over the last few months of the season has been the best I have known it to be since I have been here and that can help any team go along way. Weâve managed to keep some of the players like Steve Mildenhall and Mark McChrystal, who were both great for us last season, and with the possibility of a couple of new faces to freshen things up I think we will be in a good place.â Harrold on his competition: âBrunty is still only 19 so it is quite hard to believe how well he has done. I think we can work together and it is something that I am excited about. We also have David Clarkson and Eliot Richards so there are some good forward players here and there will be a lot of competition for places. Iâm fine with that because to be a successful team you need four or five strikers in the squad. Weâll all be pretty determined to start that first game at Exeter, but that is down to the manager.â Harrold on his fitness: âIâm feeling fit. As Iâd been out injured for so much of last season, it wouldnât have been too clever to come back without keeping on top of my fitness over the summer. Iâm one of those rare players who actually enjoys the hard work of pre-season. When your career is at an end youâll be longing for those days when you had to come back after the summer and get fit. When you are out of action for a long time it puts things into perspective and makes you really appreciate the career you have got. It could be all over in a flash so you have to make the most of every minute.â
