http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/9385553.stm Looks like he's definitely not going to be available for Scunny, so we may finally get to see an Evans/Koren partnership in the middle, unless Nigel decides to risk Evans/Belaid. I can't see Rosenior making it either, I hope Solano gets the nod ahead of Macca.
Hope its nothing major weird that they are sending him to a specialist as its not broken just buggered in some way really hope his foot doesnt turn out like bullards knee when he went to the specialist
Don't want to see anyone get injured, but this can only be a good thing. I think I did see him actually move yesterday, maybe his foot can't handle such strenuous activity.
Wonder if Mr Pearson complains about Harper's timing liken he did about Ash. Having finally managed to force Ash out how disappointed he must be for his main man to go lame on him. Bit like Taylor and Junior me thinks.
I agree with some of the posts here i really think Harper sitting out a few games will give us a chance to see how the other lads pair of in midfield. i hope Rosie makes Saturday, but not banking on it, would play Nobby ahead of Macca, but then again Mcshane is going to play again at some time. I think NP will start with Evans & Koren & use Belaid for the last 20 to 30 mins depending on how many up we are already by 60 minutes on Saturday. In fact i would recall Cooper from Carlisle now just in case, we need a left footed defender who knows how to tackle and has at least some idea of how to pass the ball. S****horpe 0 - 4 Hull city come 5pm Saturday.!! As long as we play with the same passion as against the White ****e !! UTT CTID
We need to be more attacking now so this forces the issue in some ways. I feel sorry for Harper though and a run of 14 games with just one defeat shows he wasn't a weak link, you can't carry players, he's just one of those players fans can't relate to.
Harper was doing good last night and I wondered why he was brought off, I didn't realise he was injured. I would like to see Koren put in his place and Belaid or Devitt put on the wing. I can see us giving Scunny a tonking.
To be honest I think the choice of Solano or Macca is a no-win choice. However, in light of the fact that ****horpe probably see their best way of getting a result by beating us up, I d probably go with macca and risk the inevitable errors
How can people be happy at this? How short are we now? What happens if Evans takes a knock before the Scunny game, what do we do then? People should stop criticising some players and actually see that although he is not our best player but with the lack of cover we have in midfield it is clear he is better fit than not fit.
This is fantastic news, for the team not Harper i would never wish injury on anyone (ok maybe i would most Leeds players and Taarbat) however i have been asking for weeks for him to play Koren in the middle. This is a man who has shown his class in the premiership and ran riot in the middle in the Championship, he is massively wasted out wide. He is captain of his country in the middle of the park also. (Maybe a captain replacement) With him in the middle i am excited about the prospect. I would expect to see us create alot more chances, as he will pass between the centre backs and wingbacks into space for the hard working Maclean and Fryatt to run on to. Although i do feel the one down side to this maybe we might be more vulnerable on the counter attack as we won’t have Harper sitting back to clear up the bits as koren will be flying forward, which to be honest excites me greatly.
There's some crazy, crazy talk on here! I think against DQPR and 1st half against TWS Harper stepped upto the plate and looked better for not having Ashbee around him. Lets face it we created plenty in that 1st 45 against leeds WITH Harper in theteam. While I too want to see koren in the middle of the park, and think against a team like Scunny we will get away with it, the better teams in the division could really expose us by getting a run at the back four. It's time we all recognise that all teams (well most) have a player that does the ugly part of the game and gets slated for it. Just beacuse they are not spectacular doesn't mean that they are not a vital cog in the machine. Rant over! UTT
