To anyone who follows Harlee Dean on twitter you may have seen this, but on his twitter account he called Gary Speed a coward, and then deleted his twitter account after getting a bit of abuse Stupid Stupid boy, very disrespectful DavidPalman David Palman Ironic: Harlee Dean calling Gary Speed a coward and then cowardly deleting his Twitter account after the inevitable abuse he got. #whatacock search Harlee Dean on twitter to see the reaction or http://twitter.com/#!/search/Harlee Dean This has also been bought to light at SMS, as all Saints Twitter accounts now say they do not represent the views of the club or something along them lines as inevitably SFC name was dragged into it
Yeh it was pretty disgusting really,i was one of the people who responded. He has to understand he is representing Southampton fc as well, silly thing to write.
yeah agreed, and now the players have to put a note saying they do not represent the views of the club or something
What a ***got this kid is. I hope he never plays for us at any level from now and we off-load him asap
seemed quite annoyed at lack of 1st team chances here, his attitude just stinks as a whole from what ive seen and read - seems quite full of himself
He seems very up himself like some of the youth players are. I notice on match days when they're watching in the stands some of them act like cocks. I must stress it's only SOME of them. Jack Saville has a bad name locally too.
Disgusting behaviour. Those sorts of views should be kept to yourself and there is no need to express it to the Twitter world.
Jack Saville & Harlee Dean are two, a couple of the younger lads are but generally most of them are ok i sit about 5 seats from them, most of them are well behaved and respectful but you always get a couple of donkeys
Saints have given permission for him to be used in the FA Cup..probably unrelated and merely reflects that he won't be playing for us this season, but who knows!
Some may feel that way rightly or wrongly. But very stupid to voice his opinion on twitter. Our opinions count for Jack, but so many people jump on the band wagon for someone who's taken their own life. I have spoken to countless people who have echoed Deans views. The fact is they don't put it on twitter. For what it's worth i agree with him but i haven't got a twitter account! whoops.
It's slightly insensitive, especially it being so soon after his death, but are people not allowed to have opinions now? It's just what the lad thinks, and people on here wouldn't be too happy if they got abused due to their personal opinion, surely?
his comments seem disrepectful, but why should any of you be in a position to judge him as a person ffs, seems like people love jumping on a bandwagon
No one can hurt Speed anymore..the only people that can be hurt are his family and friends. The trouble with Twitter is that 1) people can speak without thinking and 2) can reach more people than if they just natter at work. People who kill themselves are at rock bottom and are not thinking clearly, so we shouldn't judge too harshly.
Dean seems like a cock anyway from what I read on his twitter feed from July to a month ago (when i unfollowed him as he seems like a cock).
I don't know how people get soooo defensive over a footy player that killed himself. Only reason people think they know him is because he got paid **** loads to kick a football. I don't get this whole mourn the death of a randomer, only time I mourn etc is if I lose a loved one.
I agree totally. I can speak from experience of this topic and although feel terribly for Speed's family , that's as far as it goes. Football men have passed on under no fault of their own and not received half the response. I'm insignificant and can say what i like but if you are representing a greater organisation then choose words more carefully. Harlee Dean Didn't.
One of the acadamy boys who I'm pals with said something about a suicide in Harlee's family/friendship group - so I don't think it's fair to judge him on his opinion because personal experiences obviously affect your view point. I do agree however that he should not, under any circumstances, be broadcasting such opinions on Twitter. Neither Harlee nor Jack will make it with Saints in my opinion, not because of how talented they are or aren't, but because of their attitudes. They've both got 'reputations' amongst both the city and the squads, and it would seem that they're in football for the fame, fortune and females. The lads I know respect Southampton Football Club and the opportunity we've given them, even if they don't support us or started their career with another club. Whereas those two boys just see us as a something to 'tag' their names with. They don't respect Southampton Football Club and the opportunity they have with us, unlike the younger boys.
You can see where Dean was coming from though tbf. Suicide is one of the most selfish acts, but obviously something has to go seriously wrong in someone's head for them to even contemplate it.
