Pulled this off the nufcfans site.

Newcastle youngster Haris Vuckic is optimistic of returning to action in April, despite being ruled out for the entire season after rupturing a cruciate ligament.

Vuckic was devastated when he suffered a serious injury during an under-21′s clash against Aston Villa earlier this season. The young Slovenian was expected to be out for the entire season, however he’s revealed that progress is going better than expected. Speaking about the recovery process, Vuckic said:

“I always think positive, I know that if I start thinking negative, my progress will stop.

“I’m doing all the practices my physiotherapist wants me to do and everyone is happy with my progress.

“I hope I’ll be back in four months.”

Vuckic says that the support from the manager and the players has been valuable. And, although he faces the majority of the season on the sidelines, Alan Pardew has reassured him that he’s still important to the club:

“When we see each other he (Pardew) always asks me how I am and how I feel. He told me before this season that he is counting on me and that he still is.

“Actually, the whole club helps me and that gives me extra motivation.

“I know I’ll come back stronger, physically and mentally.”

if he does return it could be a timely boost if we are still in the thick of a dogfight come April.... ignoring the upcoming January transfer window of course.

A dedicated youngster, liked him from his first kick of the ball.

He has natural quality, but I think he's been in and out too much. He needs a consistent season of games.

Loaning him out to a good CC team would be good for him.

According to my informed source, he was buying an Asda price toilet brush (not a named brand??? What in the name of all that's holy has he done in there?) and some blue towels...

So nothing too glam... How much is Vuckic on?

Should have been on our coach to Stoke, we could have made good use of him.

Has he played for the reserves yet? Everytime he plays he seems to get injured straight away. Shame if it can't string a few games together, because he has serious quality. The West Brom game last season he was sooo unlucky not to score a screamer!

When he was at the Fifa 13 tournament I went to (and went out of the stage before the prizes were given out... one of three people in a crowd of Newcastle fans who actually went f-ing Newcastle <grr>) he was only hobbling a tiny bit. Raylor was worse. They were both good crack though <ok>

Yeah he's got some wit in him. Would be useful if he was fit now as well, instead of having to limp from talkshow to talkshow, but that's a recurrent theme isn't it...

Signed the free Newcastle fifa sleeve I got (with his own marker pen...) so I gave it to DT. She's starting a little collection now... Pretty sure I'm not as dedicated a fan anymore!

Am I the only person left completely underwhelmed by Vuckic?

He's not particularly quick, he's not quite a CM but not quite a CF either. He's strong with a decent shot, but he turns over possession a lot by trying a "hollywood pass" nine times out of ten.

I know he's young, and maybe I'm being harsh on the lad, but big things were expected of him and to be frank I'm not sure he's got it in him to fulfil his supposed potential.
