Think you deserved something from that game. Its a harsh but painfully true fact that everything is forgotten with a goal. Our performance was dire at times, we had no shape, no ability to keep the ball and seemingly no belief in our own ability, but that will matter little now that we have the three points. Yourselves on the other hand, pressured well, pushed up the pitch as a unit and save for a natural finisher, should've punished us for a lackluster performance, once again though, that will mean nothing if you don't get those goals and the points on the board. Was really impressed by some of your 1/2 touch passing moves and I simply don't understand how so many of your players can produce such good crosses when we struggle to create more than 1 or 2 a match! Ba scored our goal, but for me, the MOTM and certainly the difference was Ben Arfa - I'd be terrified of him if we had to play against him, pace and trickery in spades and more recently an eye for a pass. The one bit of reassurance I can give you is that even though you're not scoring just now, like Cisse, I think you'll come good. You can't continue to create the chances you did today and not score for much longer. Once you (and Cisse for ourselves) get one winner, you'll be laughing! Unlucky today, and if only for Hughton, I genuinely hope you come good soon.
Hopefully we can turn it around but I must admit to being very unsure that we will still be a premier league side come the end of the season. Sorry fellow Canary fans, but just cannot see us getting anywhere near 40 points this year.
It's going to be a tough season surgery but it always will be for us, long way to go yet I believe in CH think he will see us ok
Holt will score just need a first win and confidence will flow we have a great midfield and defense just need that goal to kick it off! On that note why did Bassong go off he has been absolutely brilliant could be a problem if he was to be out
I'm with surgery, i just cant see where these goals are going to come from to get us the points we need and without taking our chances i really cant see where our 1st win will come from!?
long way to go chaps but am also in the worrying about where our goals would come from i thought 2 CBs the bench was odd; where was Harry Kane????
It's odd given that we were the highest scorers outside the top 5 last season yet our strikers haven't really changed. On the the plus side we've conceded fewer (NOT less) goals than we did at this point last year (I think, with the exception of the Fulham game) which is good.
It's because of how we play, not who we play! We are now set up with the intention to protect our defense and keep a clean sheet rather than to simply score one more than the opposition! I must, however, admit that it is still strange that we appear to have lost so much cutting edge from last season!
I think the disappointing thing is that Newcastle were awful and despite the fact we played well we only created one proper chance all game (Surman). Its all down to movement and we are not doing enough of it.
Good post. I'm sure it will all come good in the end, though I think we will struggle to get anything from the next few games and we really needed to tighten up defensively. I think we need to see where we are in the league when we get to the New Year and I'm hopeful that e'll be above the bottom 3 - just!!!!
