A day without learning means I've edited my initial post.

I never knew that there was a difference between the East Yorkshire flag and the wessie effort until someone has just pointed it out to me.

I think I'm correct in saying that our (the proper) rose has the big bit at the bottom, and is on a green and blue background.

The flag features a Yorkshire white rose, displayed in the East Riding style with one sepal at the top, set against a bi-colour of blue at the hoist, representing the sea and the historic maritime activities of the East Riding and green in the fly symbolising the locality's rich agricultural land.22 Apr 2013
