We can only get the Leeds version of Look North on our television and, apparently, we're not in Yorkshire. If the BBC say so it must be true.

Although as any true Yorkshireman should know the proper term is "God's Own Country" rather than county ;-)

The East Riding folk are from different stock to the Wessies. We're effectively purer as we resisted the push from the Scots/Welsh tribes that took over them.

Nope, it was the Parisii that settled here as the ice retreated. The norse influence is further west in names, but not so much in blood stock. They, like the Scots/Welsh struggled to get much of a foot hold here and headed inland.

I am sure that the BBC wil be cynically celebrating 'Humber' Day tomorrow once again for some coincidental reason......Maybe they will eventually realise that nobody gives a stuff about Umbersard!

By the way Dutch, does this mean your censorship has banned me even though I am logged in?

    That 'ship' has sailed. <ok>

It's on about 3,000,000 other threads, but it's down to the owner getting his screwdriver out, but your suggestion that we should start censoring posts is an interesting one worthy of some consideration. I'll give it some thought.

From discussions, the BBC are jammed up their own arse and lie to cover some other internal agenda of their own.

    Meanwhile, EAST, EAST, EAST YORKSHIRE.

Phew. I am safe to carry on posting my home truths, in spite of resistance from the lower IQ morons in the present tribe of Hull Targers fans. Any guesses on the attendance for next Thursday I wonder?

Good luck to the rest of the (Ex) Hull City fans on Yorkshire Day! We will have our days once again when the bubble bursts.......See you all at Ferriby for now.

I used to explain it to folk in the US like this.

Never ask an Englishman where he if from. If he is from Yorkshire he will have told you. If he isn't, you have just embarrassed him.

People from Yorkshire don't need to say. Just by being loud and obnoxious will give it away.
