Me and my best mate who has now sadly passed, always celebrated St Georges Day and always made sure we wasn't in pubs when the plastics came out to celebrate Paddy's day that had **** all to do with 'em.
Your mate that was to be seen in Ebenezer's with you? Speaking of which, I have no doubt Ebenezer's will be decorated up for today. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

St. George's Day trivia question about other saints.

Which actress has 2 sporty Saints named after her, starred in a film about an alleged King of England & may have been related to the Thunder God ?

I've never thought about it before, but it turns out we have a Female Patron Saint too. She's a Yorkshire lass too. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Margaret Clitherow (1556 – 25 March 1586) was an English saint and martyr of the Roman Catholic Church, known as "the Pearl of York". She was pressed to death for refusing to enter a plea to the charge of harbouring Catholic priests. She was canonised in 1970 by Pope Paul VI.

Yes mate Vern, he had a massive stroke on the way home from the shops and was found outside his flat. He was in I.C.U. for two weeks but sadly his Daughter had to give permission to unplug the machines. This came as a massive shock because with the way my health is we all thought i'd be next to go and not him.
When I refer to my Daughter on here it's actually Vern's Daughter but she looks on me as her second Dad but calls me Pops.

Sorry to hear that mate, he seemed a decent bloke.
