so maynard has moved to west ham (as they are so short on strikers ). the deal is worth roughly the same as sharps move. so who got the best player, best deal. Personally I think Sharp is much better suited to us and our team , I get the impression Maynard is up himself, Sharp has a better ratio of goals and will suit our style of play. But I know alot here wanted us to push for maynard. Sharp is the better finisher, Maynard is more direct, straight off the last man's shoulder, but finishing is not as good. Sharp is a more complete player and will create as well as score. Billy has a far better attitude also it seems.
Don't want to come across as being biased but i think we have the far better player,in terms of what we need! The only thing that i would say Maynard has over Sharp is his pace,all other aspects Sharp is a superior player.We have had no problem creating chances but sometimes we have been guilty of not putting away our chances,Sharp is the clinical finisher that we have needed for some time and i don't think Maynard would of brought those qualities.I'm very happy with Sharp!
Sharp is better suited to Saints. We have great team spirit and I'm sure Adkins thinks character and team dynamics are very important factors. After all Tevez is a great player but, yes I know it sounds daft, I would be concerned if he was here. Sharp wanted to come here as well. I knew when he turned down Leicester that he was coming here. We need players who buy into what we are trying to do here. Very happy Saint
