Who's birthday should we celebrate more? England's greatest modern day player, captain of both England and England's greatest club. Or England's greatest chairman, who turned the loss-making little horse into the best-run club in The Prem: topping the league on the smallest wage bill and net spend out of the big 4...with no debt and no FFP investigation
On the one hand Wayne's troubling granny fetish is less psychologically damaging to Man Utd fans every time he gets a year older, on the other hand while Roman's happy there's little chance bessie mate Vlad will send a friendly nuclear rocket our way... Tough choice
What an odd thread. Unless you happen to know them both personally, then why on earth would you celebrate their Birthdays? From what you read and see of them they're both ****s of the highest order. Rooney is the most over-rated striker in world football and Roman is the one person that started the money game, and made the game more about financial muscle than anything else.
Yeah against teams like *****lia, Djibouti and Liechtenstein etc. etc. Big game, big tournament and he bottles it* *Like every other English player
Sorry Skylarker but that ship had long but sailed a decade prior with Sky TV and the formation of the Premier League. You could argue Roman exacerbated the problem though I will concede
Pretty much agree the sentiments at the start of both paragraphs. The only thing to celebrate about Wayne Rooney's birthday is that he's another year closer to retirement and we'll eventually see the last of his scowling, pug-ugly mug and the endless hype about what a great player he is (but isn't). There is a dreadfully sad inevitability about how he will eventually pass Bobby Charlton's goalscoring record for England, and Peter Shilton's caps record. Bobby Charlton will no doubt congratulate Rooney.... and he will do it genuinely because he's that sort of gentleman. He was known in his playing days as the White Knight of English football. Rooney is just a prick who happens to the best we have at this time.... which doesn't say much for the rest. Bobby Charlton was ten times the footballer, man and human being that Rooney will ever be. Rooney is a flat track bully who scores goals against monkeys. Surpassing Bobby Charlton's goal scoring record will be a sad day for English football. Certainly not something to celebrate. Rooney goals for England: Friendlies: 10 (Denmark 2 Argentina 1 Holland 1 Slovakia 2 Brazil 2 Ecuador 1 Norway 1 WCQ: 16 (Croatia 2 Kazakhstan 3 Belarus 2 Andorra 2 San Marino 3 Poland 2 Montenegro 2) WCF: 1 (Uruguay 1) ECQ: 9 (Macedonia 1 Leichtenstien 1 Estonia 2 Russia 1 Switzerland 1 Bulgaria 2 San Marino 1) EC: 5 (Switzerland 2 Croatia 2 Ukraine 1) Summer tourneys: 2 (Iceland 2) Total: 43 No goals against Germany, Spain, France, Italy or Portugal (but one red card, notably in a rather important game)......you know, the sort of teams we'd be much more impressed to see him score against. Flat track bully. Sums it up. Wanna see a real England goal scoring ace in action? Check this out. When you do this for England in a world cup, Wayne, you can call yourself world class. Couldn't agree more with this. There is a chance Rooney could surpass Shilton's caps record as well yet
