I could say lot about this shameless pathetic little chump, however I saw this on NUFC.com and it sums it all up quite nicely:

"The athlete; the ambassador; the icon" read the 32 page brochure prepared by Owen's advisors after his Newcastle deal expired - which produced these comments from NUFC.com:

Feel free to take your gissa job brochure, your helicopter, your equine fixation and your miserable face to anywhere daft enough to employ you.

Don’t think that this criticism has anything to do with your fading talents as a footballer though, No, our beef with you remains the four years-worth of utter contempt shown to the people who bought the shirts, seats and subscriptions that funded your lavish lifestyle.

At least people like Joey Barton go through the motions of badge-kissing and patronising the punters. You couldn’t even be bothered to do that, spending your time on Tyneside with a face like a smacked arse, interspersed with brief interludes of sucking lemons.

Your skin may be thick but it’ll never be as thick as your wallet. Don’t feel bad about us though – we’d have only blown the tens of millions of pounds that went into your offshore accounts on other ungrateful pillocks.

No shame, no guts, no soul, but a bulging portfolio. Role model? My arse. You put the con in Icon.

I still fail to see why he should've gone from being a clinical deadly serious striker everywhere else to a badge kissing inspirational leader for us, we knew what we'd bought, but never mind. Happy birthday!

And of course my favourite, Michael Owen flying a chopper over Dubai with the charisma of a brick wall.

Well done, he's 13. Haha. Good one.

What a knob. European player of the year against a kid and he goes on like that...?

Firstly, watch it again. How old is Owen in that clip? 16-17? Secondly, Southalls the keepers union in the clip, Owens the striker there to wind him up. He even says good save for a few of them, what do you want him to do? Soft shots and hugs?

Michael Owen is a **** who didn't care about the club or the fans and only cared about his back pocket. Appointing him as captain was nearly as stupid as appointing that snivelling , poisonous dwarf Dennis Wise as director of football.

Michael Owen is a man who was offered a huge contract and took it, like any of us would, it was the club who paid him the outrageous wages and transfer fee.

He was injured a lot but is this really any fault of his own? Injuries are part and parcel of football and I'm quite sure he didn't purposely miss months and months of football.

He was GIVEN the captaincy, everyone knows hes not captain material but he was GIVEN it, I doubt he asked for it, remember that.

However I must admit in his final season here (our relegation season) his body language and effort levels were shocking and for that, I don't think much of him at all.

On the flip side though, he honoured his contract and did score goals when he was fit, he didn't at any point try to engineer a move away or publicly criticize the club or the board, unlike a certain Mr Barton who everyone still ****s over.
