They are all special. I'm just surprised that he hasn't come back to get us into the top flight for a third time.

Two cherished memories from among many.
    The "I'm sorry!" placard.
    And:
"You don't get cramp at this club!!"

Get well soon, GT, and Happy Birthday!

It is hard to find any memories that stand out over the years.... I just remember him as a really decent guy.... who proved that 1+1 = 11 ( a bunch of average players when moulded = a top drawer side) <ok>

My favourite is when he came back in 97 and said it was because "I needed a hug".

No, NZ. This is when: http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/141129-graham-taylor-stand-celebration-1763333.aspx

I was one of the first youngsters in the Family Enclosure and I always remember him at the Junior Hornets Xmas parties willing to assist those in charge of the JH with showing the children to their respective tables when they arrived and with organising the games. If there were any children hurt or upset, he would always have a word with them. The first party after I was diagnosed with epilepsy and he was told, he said that he hoped I would still be able to take part fully.

Many happy returns to the man.

I've had the privilege of speaking to him on several occasions: once on a players night at Bailey's; once at the services on the way back from a heavy defeat at Roker Park; once the night we failed to sign a Russian international we'd been after for months, he was well honked off but didn't let on why; and a long conversation outside a blood donor clinic in Rickmansworth a while after that life threatening throat infection.

    A real gentleman.
