Whenever I've thought things have been bad over the last couple of years, I've reminded myself of just how bad they could have been.

Dark days indeed, I'm still very happy that our current owners came in and took over.

I read the article earlier this morning when you look at the timeline it's shocking how bad they were and how close we came to going under.

They opened a Pandora's Box when it became clear what they were up to, the supporters made their lives hell from then until they lost the court case.<laugh>

Anyone remember when we bombarded the Dallas Observer comments sections on stories relating to what was happening to our club?

They never knew what hit them.<laugh>

I remember saying the same in '94 after Limpar's dive, Horne's fluked screamer and Segers letting in Stuart's daisycutter #luckyfuckers <grr> The Mike Walker years <laugh> good times <whistle>

As for Tom and George.....pair of knobs can rot. The funny thing is if they'd done only a half decent job they could have sold up at a large profit as well...instead they tried to screw us....but got"royally" ****ed over in return

The Mike Walker 10 months you mean mate - ****ing useless he was. I was in the St end that day, absolute madness....

As for the Shermans, they'd have probably got away with that business model had it not been for the World economic crash and the fact that their funder was RBS, who ended up in virtual state control and were extremely risk averse post the crash. So when you failed to gain CL football in '10, the number didn't add up and RBS refused to increase their level of risk, so basically put you in administration by proxy.

Had the crash not happened then I reckon they'd still be at Anfield today.

Felt longer than 10 months....probably felt years to you lot <laugh>

You're right about the crash but nevertheless I still reckon (with a bit more cunning) they could have held onto the club. Had they just invested a sum of money back then and put some graft into the commercial side they could have held RBS off and made a bloody decent profit if they were still here today. The bank only took the very drastic decisions because the cowboys just weren't willing to invest or compromise....they believed they could outrun the banks with bluster and two-bit Texas court judgements etc. Up until the very last minute they thought they were untouchable <laugh> pair of biffs just weren't willing to work for their profits <ok>

I agree to a point, but I think they weren't prepared to stump up any of their own cash as they had no liquidity themselves, either that, or they simply didn't want to risk losing it, as they knew the model was unsustainable in that market without the CL revenue and they couldn't afford to invest to secure it.
