Hansen has done an article in today's Telegraph saying that Carroll will prosper at the Euros provided he gets good service. What a load of rubbish. It doesn't help that he doesn't get into good positions and doesn't run about looking forward. I can't be bothered to rant about this as I'm about to go out but thought I would let you guys know.
i actually agree with hansen. the problem is, he won't get ANY service playing for england. welbeck should start, bring carroll on for the final 20 minutes of matches if we are struggling - throw the ball in the air, play to our strengths - it may just sneak us a goal here and there
If Downing, Henderson and Carroll all play at the same time, we will have a top left area of the pitch, devoid of any talent or hope of scoring a goal, that is a certain!
Will England players get booked for walking off the pitch if Henderson, Downing and Carroll are playing alongside them? If I were in the England team I would walk off
God imagine if Hansen and Lawrenson were put together as pundits on the same programme, that would be a nightmare!!!
I am sick to death of punditry. You learn nothing and all they do is state the bleeding obvious. Another waste of licence fee money.
A really good striker knows exactly when and where to run into the box for headers and goal scoring opportunities. That is what appears to be currently missing from Carroll's game and why Hodgson should have taken Grant Holt to Euro's. At times Carroll runs around like a headless chicken and not contributing a great deal, especially in the recent friendly games I watched.
Exactly how I feel. A striker cannot rely soley on those providing the assists. Also those providing the assists cannot rely soley on the striker. This is why Downing blaming the strikers and Hansen saying that it is up for the other players, like Downing, to provide good assists makes no sense. If we go with what Hansen said we may as well have the Queen up front!
Maybe England ought to substitute the penalty box for the pub, because then Carroll would be in there permanently.
Was watching live England training session the other day, Carroll failed to hit the target from 6 yards on most of his shots whilst Rooney and Welbeck rarely missed....fans were laughing at him.
