Brede has withdrawn fom Norway's international next Wednesday - 'muscle problems' apparently. Maybe following being fouled in the penalty box.

Worrying or just a precaution before the Villa game ?

Personally if I was Jol, I'd be more concerned about these meaningless friendly internationals than playing in Europe. Anybody know how many of our squad will be involved next week ?

PS Jol has said he would have liked to take the players away on a mini-break but because of the internationals is inviting them round for a BBQ on Saturday night instead.

I'd heard the news about Brede too and, like you, hope its just a precaution - it doesn't sound too serious but I suppose you never can tell.

That's a lovely story about the BBQ, you can imagine manager and players all having a good time together over their burgers unlike a lot of other squads. Mark Schwarzer is always tweating about his own BBQs so I guess he'll muscle in on the cooking. Would be an entertaining tussle for the tongs between him and Big Mart!

I just wouldn't want to be the one who got inbetween big Mart and the food once it was ready to eat.

Clint Dempsey was left out of the U.S.A. squad.

I presume Schwarzer is playing for Australia against Wales, but at least he doesn't have a lot of travelling if he is.

Yes, MS is playing against Wales and Aaron Hughes is playing for NI - hopefully they have a home game so, again, little travelling

Etuhu miffed at only getting a late replacement call, so he has also opted out of playing for his lot.
