I was never very sure of SC as our best choice of manager when he was appointed, thought we may have got someone better, but as stated who ever our manager was he would get my 101%. Even up to about 10 games ago I was still only about 90 - 92% he was the right one so how am I now....... .......well about 97-98%, not sure what it is but there is something I am not quite happy about! next season will be hard, a lot lot harder than this, and I don't really expect us to set the world on fire but it could happen! We have in the past usually stated give it 10 weeks, well 12 will do for me, and we need to be 16/17 pts with 5 defeats or less that's a quarter of games with a third of the points we might need! not saying we do anything but that would be a nice start!
What will be will be, a positive thinking mindset from our fans will help an encourage our players though.
Any doubts I had (and I did have many) about Cotts's appointment disappeared long ago. I can see us holding our own in the championship and finishing strongly next season. The challenge Cotts has is to make the necessary changes to our squad without destroying the tight-knit camaraderie which has featured so strongly this season.
Wahoo we won a league championship for the first time in 60 years, won the JPT and lost by a single goal to a prem team in the FA cup. The only blip on that lot was taking Oxford for granted in the carling cup. And yet we are starting threads about not being totally happy with the manager
if were not happy with him, I'm sure there will be a queue of clubs, happy to take him off our hands,
no one can ever be 100% happy about anything or anyone, and there is a difference with being happy with something or someone that you cant you just cant put your finger on...... maybe its... .."The challenge Cotts has is to make the necessary changes to our squad without destroying the tight-knit camaraderie which has featured so strongly this season".... or his past ability to go 9.95 tenth's of a mile then get lost! Cotts for manager next season...ummmmmm 100% behind that scenario..
Sorry, I have just been through these posts again and I can't see anyone saying they are unhappy with Cotts now! (unless JGFs 97% happy counts as unhappy..) A few of us (myself included, I admit) had doubts at first, but they have long gone! I class him as our most valuable asset to be honest.....
I was one that doubted, I now think Cotts is great and think if we can keep hold of the man, he will take us to the top of the mountain, he is one of the new, few generation of modern thinking managers and I didn't spot it. He is our most valuable asset..
slowly us that were only 50/50 are admitting we wuzzz almost wrong...there were quite a few in the beginning said " nah" .. wonder if they are now "yah"
I'm lucky as I said in the beginning that he might be the one to save us. If I'm 100% honest if the club cat got appointed I would of been happy after that dross from SoD
I was definitely wrong, I was completely underwhelmed, so much so I was told it was Cotts days before he was even mentioned, by a very good source, and was so disillusioned by that I refused to believe it.. a bet would have given a very good return then! I suppose it was always going to be the way that the one we didn't want would creep up and do the best job for us... a lesson in life learnt for me.
