Does anyone fancy taking on the role of mod here? I have decided to resign as I feel I've done all I can and the site isn't growing the way I would like it to so....does anyone else fancy the challenge?
No thanks and there is little to do modding on here I would have thought as most people are friendly enough. You can't make it grow and the other two sites are mainly living to kick each other to death which a lot find a good thing for some bizaar reason. It may be small and not growing but it lives on and is more used than a lot of sites in this league I have popped onto.
Just for the record, I have noticed that I'm still appearing as mod, this is because I'm still moderating the tennis forum as I have for some time but no longer this one - just so you know.
Which ugly git is modding this one then the back stabbing F*****? Seriously, you have done a sterling job so far and I personally can't think of anyone who will do it any better, unless your parrot can type, so why the rush to off load?
The reason I began this modding lark was to get rid of a certain WUM who shall remain nameless, however it soon became a mission to do lots of other things to make this forum more interesting and lively and hopefully bring more onboard into the bargain, that hasn't happened mainly due to PASOTI being well established and also seemingly in the know with things happening at HP. I have noticed in recent times that numbers posting here have waned. I am proud of what we have here, the fact that we can strongly disagree about certain things but still don't need to resort to slanging matches, I have a strong sense of fairness and I also like to keep things civil. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be what the majority want and Distant's comments sealed what I already knew. I just feel that I'd done all I can and that someone else should give it a go. How about you Distant?

I only pretend not to like birds just to wind up the "old one". I feed a couple of crows who sit on the lampost outside my house every morning waiting for breakfast. I also chuck stuff out for a couple of foxes that frequent the area so am a regular David Attenborough really. Don't tell plymborn though.

Lalala Thanks for the mention but I don't think I'm sufficiently in tune with majority opinions. For example, my blood boils every time I see Stapleton or Gardner or Todd or Heaney or Guilfoyle referred to as crooks. Incompetent they certainly were but crooks they are not [with some possible doubt about the one with the ginger-est hair]. Most think it's either true that they are crooks or don't object to others saying it. To me, it's a completely unfounded libel. I couldn't mod those comments out if there are to be any posters here at all and yet I think it's totally wrong that people say those things. Similarly, I wanted Sturrock to go but objected violently to the personal abuse that was levelled at him. I don't think I was as alone in holding that opinion as I am on the above, but nevertheless, the majority appeared to revel in abusing him. Lastly, if I was to moderate, I'd have to un-ignore DevonSurfer! So thanks but no thanks and actually, you don't want me. I don't think you can do much to increase the traffic here. PASOTI is well established as the largest Argyle forum and the old BBC 606, from which most of us came, was small by comparison even while it was active. Keeping it going is up to us as a group, not you personally. It is however vital that we have somebody who can promptly deal with the likes of SteelThunderBalls and you've done a great job deterring that sort of nonsense. I really would urge anyone who has Twitter to try #pafc between 2:45pm and 4:45 on match days with a more immediate commentary than on the BBC text service, for example. It is quite vibrant and is also useful for snippets throughout the rest of the week e.g. I knew Ashley Hemmings had re-signed 30 minutes or so before it emerged anywhere else because he tweeted it himself. What it is no good for is proper debate - 140 characters doesn't go far - not for me anyway!
There you go Mrs lalala, nobody says that this site is going to explode into life but also nobody wants it to disappear either and people think you have done a decent job on modding. You are not to blame for the small uptake in use and generally people think it will be what it is, a nice friendly site for anyone who might want to indulge. So, along with others please reconsider and keep up the work. It isn't as if we misbehave and need deleting is it? You don't have to answer that.
Distant, I happen to think you would do a very good job, maybe you could take it to the next level. You have my vote anyway. As for me, my mission has been accomplished in getting rid of you-know-who, I think I have taken things as far as I can - maybe someone else can do something different - better so come on Distant give it a go. I'm gonna stick around, not as mod but posting and doing the prediction league as well as kicking sensible out of that cellar. I'm also going to have my hands full on the tennis forum during the next fortnight as the Aussie Open starts Monday - feel free to join me there too, you can have a break from the Pilgrimage and visit the "All British Club" bar for a drink on me Still love you guys
I want her to stay, for what its worth and the role is not about getting new members its about looking after the members you have, you do that very well. It would take me a few clicks of the mouse to bring you back.
