I was on one side of North London yesterday watching Hampshire win a fantastic game of cricket in their usual style, right at the death, whilst on the other side of North London Saints were being thrashed by another cricket score.
Hampshire CC limited overs teams have been excellent for several years but are always the underdog and regularly prove the Sky team wrong - they are winners and dont know when they are beaten ! The Hampshire support at Lords yesterday was colossal and the lads never gave up, even when the Bears were odds on to win in the final over.
Well done to MOTM Jimmy Adams and his lads yesterday - what a day, what a game and we were missing two of our top bowlers in Dimi & Danny Briggs.
Lots of Saints - and Pompey - fans at Lords yesterday and as the scores were coming in by text etc from friends there was lots of good banter between us !

Saints are getting a hammering again from the usual suspects and on the phone-ins etc - but to be honest they are about where i feared they would be at this stage, although had hoped for 1 or 2 points perhaps. Whatever, this is our team and the make up of it isnt going to change before January at least so we all need to get behind them and be the 12th man as usual next Sat v Aston Villa, and again at Goodison the following weekend.
Teams have had this sort of start before and gone on to improve - i feel that Saints will do so too and just about avoid relegation. This is not the first drubbing that Saints have had and it wont be the last - better to lose one game 6-1 than lose five games 1-0 etc.
We need to give them the support we always do though - just like the Hampshire fans did at Lords yesterday.

I always find when you have Nick Knight (Warwickshire fan) on the panel you just have to listen through his bias bile. It was an amazing game and I couldn't sit down in the last over through nerves.

I don't want to talk about the other cricket match.
