Some more nice words from Accies chairman, I really like this club. I hope we set up a regular friendly pre-season fixture with them! http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=387290
I smile every time I hear the name Raith Rovers, I will never forget Kenneth Wolstenholme saying, "They'll be dancing in the streets of Raith tonight!
There is a small part of Kirkcaldy that is called Raith, okay it's a small park with a Trout lake in it and a small housing estate next to it, but it's still called Raith. I know it doesn't excuse his ignorance I agree, but I have always tried to not be too hard on him for it.
I hope they still manage a European place without Alex Neil & Andreu they have given the SPL sides a run for their money and as Dave said they have shown themselves to be true gentlemen in their dealings with us recently. Very refreshing .
Ah now there is something the will never fail to intrigue me - I wonder just what JWM's opinion of Gordon Brown is.
History will tell us Gordon Brown was a good, decent man who went into politics for the right reasons and who ultimately got shafted and demonised by the media because he didn't play their game. Jocky Wilson was from Kirkcaldy as well, I used to go out with a girl from there - never saw Raith Rovers though sadly. Back to the OP - completely agree about Hamilton, shown themselves to be an absolutely class act throughout all this, and wonder how many other clubs would react with such dignity after having their gaffer and best player poached? Not sure I would be able to myself! Definitely my new favourite team North of the border - up the Accies!!
I have to say every time you hear a senior member of their management speak they come across as real class acts. I like the fact that they have said they will be using some of the transfer surplus to invest in their community fund. Hamilton appear to be a very welcome throwback to when players played their hearts out for the club and if they did well the club helped them move on and used the funds for the long term benefit of the club.. A pre season friendly is a brilliant idea. Let's hope our respective boards get it sorted,
In case anyone is interested, Rangers v Raith Rovers is on TV/being streamed tonight at 10:00pm here, so I guess that is 3:00pm for you people in UK. I will be glued to it
and the mighty Raith Rovers progress to the Quarter Finals with a 2-1 win at Ibrox. What a great weekend this turned out to be
