Never saw John Smith, Matt Bell or Viggo Jensen (although my dad rated Jensen very highly), but all of the rest deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Can't we induct 2 a year instead of 1? As I can only vote for one, I'd go for Big Billy because of his notoriety but would not be unhappy with any of the others.

Elliott and Whittle are the only ones I've seen in my lifetime, and of those the former was the one who gave me the best memories

I vote for Mr Stuart Elliott

The historic players should just be put in there as very few will have ever seen them

My dad also spoke highly of Viggo Jensen. For me it has to be either Bustling Billy or Stuart Elliot- we could do with all 3 of them today!

Another Dad vote for Viggo from me. My old man always held him in the highest regard.

For me it's between Billy and Stuart.

Two very different characters. I wonder how they'd have got on? <laugh>

I think they're doing something like that with the heritage committee now putting someone in every year in addition to the fan vote. It'll be nice to get to a point where all the obvious ones are in and we just go from there.

I voted Joyce but Elliott was a close second in my head.

Don't know - but they would've terrorized a few defenders!

When do the real quality players get nominated? Not division three scufflers?

Keith Edwards - probably the best finisher / goalscorer the club has had since the 70's.

City paid £30k to sign him from Sheff United in 1978, a reasonable fee back then. He scored a hatrick against Chester at Boothferry Park, he just outpaced the Chester defence and slotted past the keeper to clinch his 3rd goal.

If he had of been playing now, he would have been a premier league player on massive wages.

Justin Whittle playing for us whilst not getting paid will always rate him very highly for me.

I remember them sending the ballboys round Boothferry at half time(?) holding a sheet for fans to throw change into for the players

Stuart Elliott for me but it was close with Joyce.

I agree about just adding some of the historical ones people vote for players they've seen.

If I had to pick just one it'd be Tony Norman. 226 consecutive league appearances, over five full years, will probably never be beaten. The best keeper I've seen with us, bar none. :emoticon-0138-think

Agree. Club should nominate say one a year from early decades then have fans vote for another a year from players from recent decades.
Such a tough (impossible) choice this time. Big Billy, Elliot, Justin, Tony Norman......ended up going for Joyce. The Great Escape was quite something. Maybe Brabs should be on the list too - he epitomised the Great Escape. All legends.

John Smith and Matt Bell are well beyond my time, Vigo Jensen again a name I remember dad speaking about in hugely complimentary terms, the rest I've had the pleasure of witnessing with my own eyes over the years, impossible to choose between them.

Has Myhill ever been nominated for this? I’d say his part in all 4 divisions in a specialist position should get him in ahead of some others ..
