So pretty much halfway through the season, considering first few games are a lottery, what are your feelings as to how this will end up? A) Are we going to be Champs or is a sneaky Promo on through the play offs.... B) Mid table C) Or sucked into a Relegation battle From the games I watched over Xmas we could be Blue Square or Champs, it really was Chalk and Cheese. IMHO A loss in the Play offs wld be our best result, squad wld need a massive rebuild for Lge 1, we have a buying Manager and Mr Moneybags Brent wld not find his wallet in time. Could be a relegation battle at worst but Youngy will pull out a 45yd freekick to save us in the 7th minute of extra time on the last day, relegating Scum in the process Honestly though I think we are safe now mid-tableish at worst.
Half way this season at best mexijan. There is no way on this earth that Argyle are going to trouble the playoffs this time around. We aren't bad enough to get into relegation troubles either in my opinion. Where we were losing matches last season we are at least getting points this season and have the potential to win a few as well. Have to say it's a bit disappointing but then again after what has been for years now I suppose even that it progress.
It's going to take time to recover from the 5 year nose dive this club has been in. It takes time to bring in the required players and Sheridan has mentioned players he wants are either too expensive or won't come this far down the country and probably this far down the league structure. Once you have the players, it takes time to knit them together. I suppose the most worrying thing is that a succession of loan players are a low financial risk, but they don't provide for long term improvement. It is disappointing as for a while there we looked as if we could perhaps get close to the play-offs but we've stalled and are still closer to the relegation zone than to the play-offs in terms of points. Whatever the circumstances, that was a poor result yesterday against a team right in the relegation battle, considering they've played 29 games agaisnt 28 for most of the others.
I don't know anyone who didn't think that Pompey were nailed on to go up this season. They could not contemplate a club like that struggling. I think Pompey people thought they were nailed on as well. I do find that whatever league you are in, anyone who gets relegated into it thinks they are too big for it and are bound to just bounce back. We used to get this in the Championship with teams from the Prem. I think the footballing gods often have differing ideas.
