Now we are at the halfway stage of the season only a total mug would lump on a load of dosh on any side in this division to win the title. The current top 6 are more than capable of staying where they are, however Brighton,Forest and Derby are snapping at the ankles and then throw into the bargain the under performers of Blackburn,Burnley, Wolves,Bolton and Birmingham who with a good run of form could also get in the mix as well. At the bottom Ipswich are picking up points and moving up the table and i feel Sheff Wed we do a lot better in the second half of the season which will mean taking points of the promotion contenders. I can't see the top two teams equating more than 80 points each and the 4 play-off sides will range from 75 to 79 points with a few who miss out in the 72 to 75 range. I've not mentioned Leeds or Charlton as they don't bring nothing to the table. They'll win some and lose some remaining midtable sides. My mug bet would be Cardiff to win the title.
I think that's a fair assessment ringo. I think the only thing to throw in the mix is that we are going to see a few managers in our league on the move (e.g. at Sheff Weds, possibly Barnsley) which will change a few fortunes. Chairmen will look at Mick at Ipswich and think (rightly or wrongly) 'Right, we need a change before it's too late!' They'll forget what happened at Wolves last season and suffer the same fate but others may turn it round. My bet for auto promotion Cardiff...and well there's this team in south EAST London... Get my drift? As JB says...it's certainly possible.... Happy Christmas!
We had a ten match bad start to this season and we are top six,,,which suggests that if we have a bad ten game spell in the second half we should still be top six If we can avoid that ten game bad spell this second half we should finish top 2
Yeah think Cardiff nailed on for auto (altho 3 points for us 29th dec might halt their progress) no idea whose gonna get promo with them - just so long as we finish 1 point above the nigels I'll be happy cos it would've been a good season anyway. Just wish more peo[ple would turn up - where were all the pratts that turned up against Charlton on Satureday and there will prob be even less this Saturday - yes I know it's the Saturday befor christmas but 5000 aprox go missing from 1 game to the next
I'll be there Grumps but it's right what you say Guaranteed we'll have a sell out for the Nigels but they bring **** all compared to the train spotters as you'd think they would want to see a decent ground!
