Sort of sums this league in one great post ... When will we know?
    When the fat lady sings?
I know one thing we are not equipped to return to the top flight our club, the reason why I am on here is in a mess

    Welcome

10 points from first 5 games, 10 points from the next 12 games. Does that answer your question?

We've just given our most encouraging performance of the season at Boro but still lost and can't score. We may well be about to appoint a new manager just as Warnock appears to be turning the team round, as usual TF may well be about to shoot us in the foot again, if we have any left to shoot...

I know it's 'only' football and you intelligent gents and ladies no doubt have more important things in your lives (as I do) but I have a mini-bereavement reaction every time I consider where we have been, where we are now and where we might have been with better management and just a little more luck along the way too.

Having watched us at Boro, I'm not really worried about a relegation scrap. I think we can still hope for top 6 - maybe - with the right man at the helm. Deep, wistful sigh.

Whether we move up, stay dormant in mid table or slide to oblivion will depend on who we appoint as manager.

If the powers that be want to go cheap, appoint someone they can control on a string or get serious and invest, will depend where we end up.
This is our moment of truth and whatever they come up with will determine which road we take.

No, it will depend on the attitude and application of the players, which has oscillated between variable and woeful for 4 years. The manager can help but he can't kick the ball or make the tackles for them.

True SB but I what I meant was that a particular type of manager will ensure players adhere to his coaching / playing style, as opposed to say, Ramsey, who the players obviously like but expressed little respect to him, hence their lackluster performances over a given period of time.

Warnock, in no time has demanded an increased tempo of play, which was obviously on display on the weekend.
I'm only asuming because I didn't actually see the game but just going the reports from you people.

were just stagnating, and will stay like that for the foreseeable future, there's enough crap in this division for us to avoid relegation and not enough quality in our squad to get promoted, we are where we are.
