Hakeeb Adelakun is set to miss some 10-12 weeks due to injury, why do we suffer so often with injuries, I thought here we go another Albert, now we have to wait 3 months if we are lucky. please log in to view this image https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lee-johnson-confirms-injury-blow-1862579
We had 11 senior players out for in excess of 4 weeks due to injury last season, let's hope this trend does not flow over into this season.
Seems to be a city trait and it seems today these players take ages too return playing. Christ back in the 70/80s a couple of weeks to a month and they were back firing on all cylinders.
Or if you done your ACL you was retired. Look at the difference now in the ages players retire from playing compared to previously. The biggest issue to me recently has been the amount of players returning too soon and breaking down again. At the moment we are pretty much covered in that position, he was a tribunal fee so let’s take our time and invest in his future and hopefully he lives up to the expectations.
Was he really going to be a factor in the whole scheme? Good luck to him in his recovery and a fully fit return to action towards the end of the year.
A while back me and Supcon or Nick H were having a spat about the 30 or so signings LJ and Ashton brought in and some who I called 'crocks'. O'Dowda, Pisano, Paterson, Djuric, Fammy etc etc Can we add another 2 ? Mate reckoned Flint would have stopped their goal yesterday. Centre of the box, 9ft in the air. Anyone agree/disagree ?
You can’t legislate for a bad tackle in a friendly. I note Yeovil had two sent off yesterday and loads sent off last season. They seem to kick first and add questions later. And disagree Flint wouldn’t have made any difference
Sounds like quite a serious injury. O'Dowda, Pisano and Hegeler were all out for a long time. Not sure any of them have got back to 100% even now. Got a feeling we might not see him until next year. Really bad luck - again!
We must suffer more serious/long term injuries than most teams, and surely it cant all be down to bad luck ?
LJ - 'Sorry Steve but I've done it again, I've signed another crock'. Lansdown - 'Don't worry Lee, we'll tell the fans before the Forest game. We'll bury the news - they won't even notice'. 'Anyway, you have brought in almost 40 others, they can't all be crocks'. 'Can they?'
Although LJ will undoubtedly have a huge say in who is chosen (alongside MA), surely these players must have to pass a medical before being signed? Doesn’t the medical involve weaknesses or former injuries being assessed? We do seem ‘unlucky’ in this respect and I share the skepticism.
Come on this injury is a result of a bad tackle in a supposed friendly, its not a case of his body letting him down who could have foreseen that?
Bloody hell, this Yeovil player needs sorting. So he's nailed Hegeler, Fammy, O'Neil (at Bolton now he's fit), Paterson, Djuric, Engvall (in Europe now he's fit)Pisano, O'Dowda, Taylor and Marley Watkins. He's worse than Gordie Parr. PS Loathsneyd, the above is a bit tongue in cheek. I do agree about Adelakun if it was a kick/bad tackle.
