Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson is being criticised by social media users for posting an Instagram photo of her wearing her hair in dreadlocks.

The 26-year-old musician revealed her new look on Monday night but her followers suggested her hairstyle was offensive to the black community.

She was accused of cultural appropriation and some commenters demanded she apologise for her insensitive look.

So now we have white or black hairstyles ffs.


I;ve had loads off diiferent style crops. From Bald, mohicans, flat tops, horse shoes, through to bleached blonde really gimpy look.


Now it's just a boring half on the sides and back, and a bit on top with a daft bit on front.

Anyone had any wacky looks. And is there such a thing as white or black hairstyles?

 

No idea about dreadlocks only being for black people but I've seen similar comments in the past.

I've had pretty much every hairstyle going at one time or the other including dreadlocks.
Dreadlocks lasted less than a week before I realised that I looked like an absolute twat.
Growing up my hairstyles usually matched whatever stupid **** I was in to at the time so that's been surfer(couldn't surf), skater(couldn't board but did blades), goth(pinnacle of style and taste ) + loads more **** that I grew out of when I was about 18.

Did fubu or Karl kani etc complain about this when baggy jeans were in fashion or did they just count the money?

She looks hot. As did the Blondie from steps when she had braids

Although in my time I have to say white girls a ting black because they are with a black fella dies annoy me

Famous ones like Christine aguillera and Gwen stefani piss he off, not because of the hairstyles and clothes but the change in demeanour.

I had a mate who was as white as they come, spent some time working with some black fellas and started talking patwa "wagawan g". **** off with that ****

 

Yeah it's absolutely bollocks.

Does seem like there's more to it as the independent have run several similar stories in the past. If I were cynical I'd say it's a publicity stunt.

Never had anything done with my hair, just a standard short back and sides jobby. Boring ****er me.

I can't even let my hair grow long tbh as it's so thick and sort of wavy it's a **** to control.

Mine ain't that short, normally have a grade 2/3 around back and sides and then a bit longer on top. Get it cut every 6-8 weeks I suppose.

 

Every 2/3 weeks for me.

 

Yeah I'm lazy and can't be arsed with that.

 

Same. Bout every 8 weeks for me. Although I do my own hair like a pikey, haven't been to a barber/hairdressers for over a decade.

 

I like getting it cut. It's a woman that does it. Proper old school rockabilly bird.

I just do mine when it starts to get too much to control, I get 10% off in my local barbers as an nhs worker too.

Well I say local, my one of choice.
