Served twice. I found it very interesting but snooze inducing at times. When they get onto a point of law it can drag on but a lot of the time you get ushered out (literally) while the wigs discuss case law.

I was on three cases in all - drug dealing, concealed weapon and fraud. One of my mates got stuck on a case of kiddie fiddling which was hard going.

I'd love to do it again, duty calls and all that, plus 2 weeks off work, result!

I've actually been chosen four times in all but I've managed to get off because of exams and work commitments. No one else in my family has ever been chosen yet I get chosen four times!!

I've been called 3 times but did it twice as they cancelled one appearance at the last minute.

The second time was great - handling stolen goods and 2 blokes who had a fight in a works football match. That went on for an entire week because they called all the players and the ref - thank **** it was only 5 a side and not a rugby match.........

Not been on jury service but went to my local Magistrates Court to sit in on a few cases a couple of months back. Had a ***** on trial for ****s sake (not for his child-related offence/s obviously, but they were mentioned). It's weird knowing you're so close to a sick **** like that.

    Haha.

I was selected once and got chosen for an assault trial but we were dismissed when the victim let slip that the accused had a previous record (at that time juries were not allowed to know of the accused's past convictions).
