<peacedove>Liverpool new manager is going to complete the deal soon.
I understand Gylfi has refused to sign for Swansea.
    Good news.!

Good, always liked him since that fateful game against Reading that basically heralded the end for Rafa.

If you get him for 6-8mil he could turn out to be one of the signings of the summer. I've watched him a lot, fantastic talent. And at 22 he's only going to get better, especially surrounded by a better squad (no offense Swansea).

  8. With Sigurdsson just 22 years old (23 in September), Lucas (turned 25 in January) and Henderson (22 today) we potentially have a trio in midfield that will be at Anfield for a fair few for years to come <ok>

PS - happy birthday Jord <ok>

    Dont forget Jonjo Shelvey.

How do you guys expect Sigurdson to fit into our squad?

Box to box? next to Lucas? Off the striker? bench at first?

I think he will start, 3 man midfield with Stevie n Lucas, then 3 men up front with Suarez bein 1, possibly Andy or New signing and another ( new signing)

I can see this definitely as a possibility. Will be interesting to see if this was the case how he sets up the 3 midfielders in terms of how flexible he allows them to be <ok>

    ----------Lucas------------
    --Gerrard----Sigurdson--

    Or

    ---Gerrard----Lucas---
    --------Sigurdson------

    I favour the first one.

I would say we have a quintet, as we also have Shelvey and Suso.

  15. Ah, how could I forget Jonjo...<ok>

If you're saying quartet plus Shelvey and Suso, who is the fourth...? Please don't say Charlie Adam. Or did you mean Gerrard? If so, I was focusing on the youngsters <ok>

No Just 5. Jord, Gylfi, Lucas, Suso and Shelvey......

Think a few years of Gerrard and Adam should help them to develop, but was only referring to the 5 young guys

  17. Those seven you mention plus Aquilani, Spearing and Cole would suggest we are overloaded in the middle. Obviously, Aquilani won't be sticking around and I have only included Cole as part of the midfield because I think Brendon will play 4231 meaning Joe is an option anywhere in the three. But do we need eight or nine options...?

Personally, I think Shelvey will go out on loan and Suso may get a handful of appearances in non-pressured games. That leave Jord, Gylfi, Lucas, Gerrard, Adam, Spearing and Cole which would be fine IMO, we just need some width/pace <ok>

I cant see Shelvey going on loan. I think he could have a big season ahead.

Yeh would prefer to see Suso on loan for a year anf Jonjo, get game time with us this season......Think Suso at a championship side this season could make a massive impact....Bristol City has already been talked about...( At least City would like him.)

Can't see Spearing getting much game time anymore. Obviously used a lot more than intended last year due to Lucas' injury, but feel he also got more because Kenny was manager and wanted to try the local lads more.

Think he could be a half decent squad player, but doesn't really fit into Rodger's pass and move philosophy. With the amount we could have in CM wouldn't be suprised to see him leave or go on loan.
