Reading the latest press stories on Sky and its saying that Gylfi is open to staying in Swansea after te summer! This would be a terrific signing for us IMO and would be very much the missing piece in Midfield(as we've seem already). 3 Questions for my fellow posters. Do you think this story has any truth? How much money do you think it will take to sign him? Do you think there has been some kind of deal made or price agreed with regards to a transfer at the end of his loan deal? Not sure how long he has left on his contract and TBH i think we would be talking Mega bucks to sign him,i get the feeling he already knows what kind of wages we would be paying so it could be positive that he knows this and would still consider a move to swansea. If other clubs come in and offer more money then it would be difficult but i get the feeling its more about the style of football and playing for Brenden rodgers than it is an extra 10k a week, if he does well here then he will get mega money else where in 2yrs time and possibly at a top 4 club. Thoughts on Gylfi becoming a Jack ? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7491250/
The guy is class, isn't he? For ages we've been saying we need a player like Bodde, but Sigurdsson bridges the gap between midfield and attack very well. There's still lots of games to go, so let's see how his form holds, but if we'd have signed him permanently in January I'd probably be saying it looked like a good bit of business, price dependent of course. I'd be surprised if we didn't explore the possibility of an agreed fee when we agreed the loan, how up for letting us keep him Hoffenheim will be though I don't know. He excelled for Reading, played well last season for them and if he plays well for another 6 months, surely they'll want to keep him?
hoffenheim paid over £6m for him, he's performing very well for swansea so they wouldnt want to lose money on him, i remember reading at the time that he's only at swansea to get games and build up match fitness before returning to hoffenheim and playing for them
How this guy hasn't found a long term home is beyond me . Time for the loaning to cease & for him to become a full time Swan , pull out all the stops I say .
Yes he certainly has talent, i think Readings player of the year and then the same at Hoffenheim too, using these games to get fit for the Bundersliga may have been the inital idea but hopefully he stays out of favour there and pushes the move to come here, all pie in the sky i know !! Its easy to see what we have been missing when we watch him play, Gower,Dobbie,Kemy,Allen and Routledge have all played the position with different levels of success, but when you get the real deal playing there it really does make a big difference to our attacking play. The biggest benifit is that DG actually is getting something he can work with in terms of passes in the right areas, 3 and a half games and 2 assits from Gylfi for Graham speaks volumes, as Scot says ,it will be intresting to see how his form holds. Hopefully he will do enough to keep us safe but doesnt do enough to catch the eye of bigger spending teams
The guy on the right looks like the bloke who works in the chinese take-away in sketty, always remembers your name when you go in there even after about 3 yrs
Norway. Spot on. Hope it's not Chris from Sketty. The thought of my money helping to bail out the Bluetits would put me off crispy beef forever. Correct about his memory. I had not gone there for 2 years and he still knew my name. PS. Opium Den next door is nicer.
Hate to burst your bubble Paul but calling you a t**t when you walk in doesn't mean he remembers you lol!!
Chinese food - a great cuisine ruined by excessive use of sugar and MSG. I'm allergic to the latter and have to use an asthma pump just to walk past a take-away. Apologies for another Victor Meldrew moment.
I reckon he is a very gifted take away guy thats for sure! Either that or we are the only people who ever went there
Back to the thread.... I hope Gylfi does want to stay and puts in a request, however I will wait with baited breath. I seem to recall us saying the same last year about a Mr Borini (who scored 2 crackers against Inter this weekend .... oh what could have been. As gutted as I am, Chelsea fans must be spewing at the talent they are letting slip away)
I couldn't even remember going there, walked in and it was "Hi Scott". He knows all my mates, it's nuts. Guy must be able to use that recall in other aspects of life, surely? Must be handy for betting?
Not just you guys. Sorry to de-rail the thread again, but that guy is ****in incredible. Chris is legendary and still going. My friend lives in London and he still remembers him when he goes in. Freaks the **** out of me. Can't cook though.
OK , so you all think Chris rocks. here's a link for his very own forum http://www.topix.com/forum/who/chris-rock
where did you read that ? A slightly different slant on the story http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germ...anislawski-sigurdsson-obasi-do-not-care-about
