    Saying as the Mirror are reporting the mackems are trying to offload him;

    Would you take him at The Toon?

    Am conflicted, he is a decent player and 10 goals in your 1st season aint bad.

    But then again he will always be tainted with having played for that lot!

    Too hit and miss, they would want too much and there are better options out there. He'd be another Martins.

    Pretty certain Leon Best ended up with a better if not very similar ratio of goals-games. So no thanks.

    I don't know why the mackems think he is so special. He looked quality against England when we played Ghana but for the mackems, he hasn't looked anything like that. I think he is using Sunderland for a shop window and after what he said about the spuds, I think his mind is already drifting towards pastures new.

    Maybe its a sign that the owner has lost faith and is stripping the assets before selling up, 1st Bent, then Henderson and now Gyan, Gordon and Steed

    Dont think theres much truth in this story to be honest. The Mirror started the rumour and every other website has only quoted the Mirror or "reports" (Aka the Mirror) as their source.

    Methinks its just the Mirror trying to shift papers.....for now.
