Just reading about SB wanting to bring summer signings in quick. and it says Gyan & Anton Could be back. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/9035373.Bruce_wants_swift_start_to_his_summer_signings/
who knows, cos i read this, guess it's wait and see. Steve Bruce has confirmed that all of Sunderland's injury victims will miss the final game of the season. The Black Cats boss has seen his options severely depleted over recent weeks, with first-team stars struck down at regular intervals. A lack of senior personnel saw Bruce name seven youngsters on the bench for last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Wolves. He may be forced to do the same at West Ham on Sunday, with the likes of Craig Gordon, Michael Turner, Titus Bramble, Lee Cattermole, Kieran Richardson, Danny Welbeck and Asamoah Gyan all still sidelined. "I can't see anyone making it back in time," Bruce told the club's official website. While frustrated to be without so many of his leading lights, Bruce can take comfort from the fact that the Sunderland academy has produced so many potential first-team regulars
Don't really think there's any danger of either of them returning for the Hammers match. As Commachio says, Bruce has already said he can't see any of the injured returning this season. What's left to play for except a bit of pride, let the youngun's do that and get valuable experience at the same time. Unless of course he wants to rush a player back into the team before they're 100% ready ... hmmm, now where have I heard that before!?
Even a mention of bringing them back is silly, whats would be the point. I know its a squad we need to build and I know its all just talk but some of the names mentioned dont exactly excite me.
Don't play Gyan. Let him get fit. There's nothing much on this game apart from possibly a couple of places up and although that would look better at the end of the season I don't think it's worth risking Gyan for. Let the young'uns have a go, Noble, Knott and Lynch.
It would be madness to rush Gyan back for a meaningless game. Let him get away on his hols, relax, then get fully fit for the new season.
If he doesnt, are you confident to announce you will run arond the streets of Southwick bollock naked with a feather sticking out of your arse? Lets test the depth of your knowledge/contacts with the club as only someone with your connections could be so bold?
Cest mate are you sure BC could hold a feather in his arse?? I think you would have to choose a larger implement since he always talks from his ass a feather wouldnt be here or there....
How about him sporting a ****ing huge boot up the arse then Gyan. I'm sure there will be many volunteers to olige? Lol
Wish they would make their minds up, From todays echo.. ASAMOAH Gyan and Anton Ferdinand could make a shock return to the fold for Sunderland’s final-day trip to relegated West Ham. The pair have been laid low by hamstring injuries which were expected to rule them out for the rest of the season. But Ghana striker Gyan and centre-half Ferdinand both came through training unscathed yesterday and they will be involved at Upton Park on Sunday (4pm kick-off) if they avoid a relapse. Boss Steve Bruce said: “Gyan and Ferdinand trained yesterday and we will see how they are. “Of course, if there is any risk then I won’t play them because I don’t want them injured all summer. I’ll just wait and see how they do in training over the next few days and then make a decision.” Ferdinand is the only one of the pair who has a chance of starting after producing arguably his best performance of the season in Sunderland’s win at Bolton a fortnight ago. The 26-year-old tweaked his hamstring during the game and then broke down again in training four days later. But if he is passed fit to face his former club, it would be a major boost to Bruce’s defensive options, with Nedum Onuoha likely to revert to right-back while Ahmed Elmohamady moves into midfield. Gyan will be on the bench at best after a month out since straining his hamstring in the crucial home victory over Wigan. But his presence would at least put a recognised senior striker at Bruce’s disposal, with Danny Welbeck still out also after injuring his hamstring against Wigan. Welbeck remains on the treatment table, as does the rest of Sunderland’s injury list of Craig Gordon, Marcos Angeleri, Michael Turner, Titus Bramble, David Meyler, Fraizer Campbell (all knee injuries), Kieran Richardson (broken leg) and Lee Cattermole (back). Bruce added: “I’m sure the supporters are fed up of me talking about injuries – I know I am fed up of talking about them – and we just have to deal with the situation. I’m bored of saying the same thing, which is that we haven’t been able to cope with nine or 10 first-team players missing. “But I think you could say a similar thing about most clubs in this division – if you took nine or 10 players out of Aston Villa’s side, or Bolton’s or Everton’s, they would struggle, too. “We’ve gone into a lot of games with our squad players. “When we have everyone fit, I believe we are a better side than Wolves, West Brom and Fulham – but not when we are down to our squad players.”
