With Flavio and Bernie gone, where are we gonna get our mid-thirties Italian has beens from now?! We're fooked!
But in seriousness, I'm really happy that this is behind us now. I feel there will be no 'por favor' signings anymore, only serious, purposeful signings that make sense (I can't see Fernandes wasting his money on rubbish as he seems a really intelligent guy).
Warnock said last night he'd be surprised if he didn't get the signings that he was after. Now that's certainly a big change from his statements a couple of weeks ago.
I picked up on that to usually when NW makes a statement like that he probably has 2/3 ready to sign and he will want most of next week to bed these players in. I'm doing a Cerny, Tuesday is the day for the first to arrive and I will also predict we will definately sign a Spurs player.
What i loved about yesterday's result was that it was won without most of our new players. After the Bolton game i could not help thinking that we could of done better with keeping with our championship winning side. I thought that bringing in four new players so quickly (for the Bolton game) was undermining to the side and i hope that any new players we get will have to battle to get into the first team. There is no doubt that we have to strengthen our squad, but yesterday proved that most of the players that won us promotion can make the grade in the premiership.
Good point Seahoop, but it's going to be a long hard season and we've yet to meet the real big guns. Tactics will play a big part and they were spot-on yesterday. Every member of the squad will have their part to play and Warnock is the master of man-management...
Exactly my thoughts. I think our Championship team should have started and anyone else has to work their way in. Agreed! Anyway, from now on I think they'll all start gelling and new comers will be welcomed. I feel that things are gonna start working (but I also expect a few hidings from teams this year).
