I know most of you will never have heard of Guy Lafleur but during my first years in Canada (1975+) he was the epitome of what a true hockey player should aspire to emulate. His scoring for the Montreal Canadiens was world class and as such he was certainly the most respected player of that era and it was so sad to hear of his death at the young age of 70. The entire country will be saddened by his death and I'm sure the memories will flood out through the condolences that will certainly come over the next few days and the sight of him flying down the ice with his blonde locks trailing behind him will forever be his legacy to the sport and his country. R.I.P. Guy and thank you for my memories of my early ice hockey days.
