Sunderland are reviving their interest in Hamburg defender Guy Demel. The Daily Mail says Sunderland manager Steve Bruce ruled out a fresh move for Demel the other week after being snubbed by the Ivory Coast international on previous occasions. However, Bruce is having a re-think with the financial package decent for a 30 year old right back with such experience. Bruce said he was not keen on signing any more African players but despite 26 caps for the Ivory Coast, Demel was born in France and has spent most of his career there and in Germany with Dortmund and Hamburg. QPR manager Neil Warnock would also like Demel but may struggle to match the wages on offer elsewhere. thoughts lads
Let's see how true to his word he is....ACN in Jan we can't afford to lose half a team, considering the other half will probably be injured.
I watch a lot of Hamburg, when i get the chance and they are shown on bet365, and Demel is not good. Positionally poor, and slow to turn if he gets caught out, he's not even first choice for Hamburg, what makes him a good prospect for Premier League football? If he's <£1million and intended as back up, maybe. If he's instead of a quality defender such as Johnson or Samba, i'd be very disappointed indeed.
I'm not claiming superior knowledge mate, but i have seen him playe plenty of times, and he has never impressed me.
no.I was being serious BB. You have superior knowlegde, you have seen him I aint so I trust your judgement, was being nice.
