Don't think I'll be in this job much longer. The company's just about breaking even, last month we were down a fair bit & main client we have has put all the work out for tender.....with about 50 companies in for the work the chances of it being us when we already have the work are very slim. Some company is bound to undercut us & take all our work. The guy who got me this job has since moved on, bumped in to him the other day at the shops & he said he'd see if there was anything at his new place. Went on facebook last night & he'd sent me a message saying one of the teams there may be recruiting, the manager is my old boss from a years ago. ****ing result. the best boss I've had. He sat me next to him so we could **** about on the net all day. Bit of a lad too, used to knock round with him a fair bit when I hung round with the Zulus. Pictures of him & the Zulus at The Firm premiere the **** Sent him a text & a message on facebook about a job. ****s just replied saying he's fully staffed He might have something pop up soon & will let me know then. ****ing remembered he rang me a few years ago & offered me a job but I didn;t bother going the interview & didn't tell him Hope he's forgotten about that. Did explain to his mrs I'd contacted him but my emails were playing up What a pisser that is. I was way ****ing late this morning thinking **** it I've a new job.
that sucks mate, my place here isnt going anywhere fast which is why i want out ok for the moment but looking at contracts etc i reckon its got 2 years to run or so.
We find out if we're through to the next round of the tender next week. The top 3 companies will be invited in to do a presentation etc. We're already doing 9/10's of the work so if they were over the moon with our work they wuldn't put the contract out there for others to compete. Its just a cost cutting exercise with the cheapest company getting the work. I'll just keep texting him now & again the next few weeks so he knows to let me know if anything pops up.
