I'm just waiting till its in the news where some bloke with a dodgy ticker keels over and dies as a result of getting ice water poured over their head! Law of averages say it'll probably happen!
Apologies when I piss people off up-front. But what the f**? Why are everybody like sheep? Why is it suddenly cool (no pun intended) to have a bucket of iced water tipped over your head? If you want to give make a contribution to charity just f**ing do it. Don't feel obliged just coz of the latest craze! What the **** is wrong with people today?
I agree completely mate. Caring about the fight against cancer or whatever else it is shouldn't be reduced to a fad fed by our ****ty celebrity culture andsocial media whores. Despise the whole thing even if it's for a good cause. I doubt half the people doing it even know what the charity is, never mind donating.
Couldn't disagree more fellas, this will have raised awareness of this disease by unbelievable amounts and raised millions of pounds. So what if people had fun doing it and maybe not everybody donates or clicks but a lot do and it's actually quite fun!
I agree with this. Why don't they all go bungee jumping or base jumping, not sitting like a lemon, getting a bucket of water over them...It's like a game for 6 year olds.
This is where you draw the line ffs. warning...warning...i wanna be sick.
Hi Bexinio. Without googling it do you know what charity it's for, and what the initials stand for? You might but I bet 99% doing it haven't got a clue.
Yes thanks for being funny mate, I try to do a lot for charity, or should I say the charities that move me the most. Can't really understand the resentment on here, of all the stupid **** on the Internet to actually abuse people having a laugh, raising awareness and investing in care and cures makes me sick actually. Oh and by the way a good family friend had ALS and t was awful watching that family suffer so **** you prick!
The point is mate that people should care because of the illness not because it's a fad but because it ruins peoples lives. It's sad that you've seen someone suffer from it but had people given a toss before this online wet t-shirt competition, things might have been a little easier for sufferers in the past. The fact is very few people doing this are mentioning the disease, or donations. they're merely trying to outdo each other. What's the biggest shame in all of this is where awareness for this disease will go. In two months there will be a new dictator in Africa to campaign about or people will be back to instagramming their breakfast.
Yeah so it's ok to give up on everybody and be arrogant about the whole thing?? If 1 person gets involved or 1 pound more is raised that's a victory. Would you prefer the breakfast videos? The world is made a better place by an inch at a time mate.
It's not arrogance that gives me this point of view, just a dislike for illness and charity being used as part of a popularity contest driven by celebrity culture and social media sheep. Not the outcome that I disagree with or those who genuinely care if it leads to donations, it's the fact that the message is being lost by those who really couldn't give a ****. I've seen several people start talking about the fight against cancer in these videos... ****ing morons.
