Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has been charged by The FA following the game against Hull City on 3 March 2015.

It is alleged that his behaviour in the 35th minute of the fixture amounted to improper conduct.

He has until 6pm on 9 March 2015 to respond to the charge.

Meanwhile, Hull manager Steve Bruce has been contacted by The FA in relation to the same incident and formally reminded of his responsibilities.

Never any doubt that Poyet would be charged, but I was worried Doubtfire would be too. I think the FA have got this about right with just a quiet word to Brucey.

Shame, I thought they played better after he was sent to the stands.

The commentary said Poyet was red - carded. Yes he was sent to the stands. Does he serve a ban in future fixtures.? Is he not a part of the same code for players who offend.?

I don't see the point of banning the manager from the touch line, they just sit up in the stands & are on the phone/radio to them from there.
Even at half time they leave their seats & probably go & do the team talk. If they're not allowed in they can just call anyway.
    ****ing pointless!

Some players will play better without their manager stood on the sideline. Gives them a bit more freedom.

I've never understood why managers sit on the sideline instead of up in the stands, where they can get a much better view of the game and how it is playing out. It seems to work in rugby, anyone can shout instructions at the players.

His responsibilities should have been to knock Poyet out. Fists first, questions later.

Its a shame he came off when he did(although it was good management) he was actively looking to add to his collection of red cards.

The left back they brought on looked a decent player.

I had a bit of a fever the last few days. I'm about over it now, but it came on very suddenly and I didn't know what caused it. I have since figured out it was brought on by the realisation that after this incident I actually like Steve Bruce, just a teeny weeny bit.

He's still a fat lying ****, but I'd have loved to see him smash Poyet.

Just shows how out of touch the FA are.

We were all shouting for Brucie to deck Poyet, but they're saying this is irresponsible.

    Totally clueless.

You go back to the days of Cliff Britton and managers sat in the directors box.

Definitely this. I've never seen what anybody sees in him, he;s like Joey Barton Lite.

As for the scuffle, surely that Lino should receive a commendation?

Nah, they started to play better when that Wickham & van Arnholt (sp) came on.

Don't think there's any room for the Mackems to complain here. All Poyet's own doing. I dunno what he was doing walking down the touchline into our technical area in the first place.
