How great a loss would he be? Taking emotion out of the equation, I really don't think it would be a huge loss. However, I have only seen him play at a live game about 5 times in the last few years. I think he is a great player to have in the side, but recently we have done alright without him. A loss? Yes. Irreplaceable? No.
It' s a difficult one. We've won games without him but would things have been more comfortable if he'd played? Was the signing of Bryson in anticipation of gunner leaving? Probably the one fly in the ointment this one. Colin's Q&A with fans made an interesting read last night. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/.../warnock-cardiff-city-questions-live-13970907
I said this on Jay's Strength in Depth thread 2 hours ago: - "Whatever Gunnar does I wouldn't criticise him - unless he signs for the Jack's of course. He has given us 7 years of loyalty and commitment and seen his stock rise due to Iceland's success. I guess he wants another stab at the Prem or other top European league. Promotion for us would satisfy that need. Hopefully he will review his stance once our outlook for the rest of the season becomes a bit clearer in January." Media been cribbing on our forum again?
Good Q & A with some interesting stuff. Got to love his sense of humour. When I said Connolly and the knife to go in January I had forgotten about Pilks. Looks like he could be leaving. I seem to recall he is a high earner on £10k plus so that would also free up cash and more if we get a fee - unlikely I think. Colin rates Connolly so perhaps he will stay although he will be desperate to get games. May depend on what Warnock thinks of Feltscher.
Any offer in January then sell - unless its to the Jacks. Sanches , Clucas , Carroll and Fer are doing nicely there.
There' s not enough characters like him left in the game. It' s also why mind games don' t work with him. It's more likely to backfire on those trying to wind him up. He is confident in his own abilities and sees criticism as a compliment. He genuinely seems to enjoy himself and not feel the pressure. That rubs off on the players. One of the last entertainers in football management. Oh, him and Holloway!
I agree with all the above, served us well but doubt he could handle the Prem we would need someone else. He can go for free at the end of this season so he can pick and choose.
