I watched an interview with NW the other day and he was not exactly singing Gunnarson's praise. In fact from what I was hearing, he expects Gunnarson to feature for Iceland in the upcoming internationals and the world cup, but doesn't think he will feature for the Bluebirds. Did anyone else the interview? I tried to look for it just now and can't find it. It seems to me there is more to the Gunnarson situation than is being published. Tomlin has told local media (Nottingham area) he's loving it in Nottingham and is happy to be nearer home. Is he coming back? I don't think so, do we need him? Clearly not.
Gunnar (imo) has wanted a move away for a while now. Are we missing him terribly? Meh. Ralls has been doing a fantastic job in the centre. ... Tomlin who?
City have missed Gunnerrson big time. He was one of the main reasons for our blistering start to the season.
Tomlin won't be back. If Grujic keeps progressing and improves again like Tuesday, we won't see Gunnar either. Tomlin was a big mistake - probably by far the biggest by Warnock since he's been with us. He thought he could get him going but it just didn't happen. With Grujic on board and Paterson finding his feet in midfield, Gunnar would be the only beneficiary of some game time. With Bryson still to return in and Damour regularly on the bench and even Jazz in contention, Gunnar is excees to requirements unless we hit an injury disaster. Whether that's the right approach or not given his great past contributions to the side, he's out of contract in the summer and that's the way it is.
Big risk on Gunnar's part going straight to the Iceland team with no match practice - even in the Under 23's. Something doesn't ring right. Hope the truth comes out in the end. Tomlin - big mistake - everyone has moved on and he can't play for Forest against us this season. Hope he can find some form and do some damage to the sides around us. If he can then the money spent on him wasn't a total waste.
